I lost 40lbs this year
One of my success stories this year was to become leaner and lose my weight as at 2022 my highest weight measured was 225 lbs and I am 5’4 I height that was a lot of weight at the age of 22? Damn that was a lot of weight and I didn’t like myself, I remember this time last year exactly Dec 18th I decided to change my life…

50 lbs lost in 40 days.
Well, my story starts when in November 2023 I ended up in ER, and after my sugar was measured (865) I received new diagnosis: diabetes, and was hospitalized. Diagnose was bit of a shock, as over last half year I was receiving confusing sugar readings (will skip explain all for space sake). With 355lb weight, congestive…

I've lost 100 pounds!!!
At the start of January I went to a soccer game with some friends. I was so big I could barely make it up the stairs. My knees felt like they were gonna give out. I was getting winded showering. At my heaviest i was 388.6 pounds. My dad died of a heart attack at age 51 and the way I was going it was gonna take a miracle to…

My storie short and sweet!
To be honest my main goal for coming back again and again to these challenges is a fear of going backwards. And this fear comes from the lose then gain it all back and more syndrome. That was my life before SP. I joined SP in 2008 and started the challenges within that first year. I went from 226 (my max) to 170. I…

Did it again!
Like many once the lockdown happened I became a remote employee, and didn't realize that access to never ending food was actually a bad thing. I quickly gained my weight back just because I was no longer active. Bad excuse but the truth. So this year I decided it was time to feel the same about myself that I did before…

41 pounds gone in half a year.
The left was me at my heaviest 205 lbs 5”7 and 24 years old. On my right 164, 25 years old. It really got me when a former student of mine saw me and said “Miss you look 15 years younger” I hadn’t realized how much my weight was holding me back from being an effective and energetic teacher, plus in my personal life. It is…

345 DAYS....101.6 POUNDS GONE.....A WHOLE NEW PERSON
345 days ago, I was sitting in a lazy boy after cutting firewood all day exhausted and sore to the point that I didn't know if I was ever going to get up outta that chair. In that moment I realized that I wasn't going to be able to be active enough to keep up with my then 6- and 2-year-old boys. And I didn't want to be the…

Longest Log-In Record?
I am currently at 129 days and I have worked out for most of those - I haven't changed much in the way I look (I need to work on my diet and be more consistent with the heavy lifting I think) but I feel f*cking fantastic!!! building the habit of logging daily, even if I didn't exercise, even if I ate like crap and didn't…

Took a while
On 2014-01-20 I started here at 385lbs. Today I hit 285, down 30lbs since Oct. Many restarts over the years but I love that MFP has kept track of this. Low sodium seems to be key for me. If I keep that goal then the calories and everything else fall into place.

Bye-abetes (sorry about the awful pun)
In summer 2021, I had my blood test and my glucose level was 46 points, I was diagnosed as pre diabetic, I decided to get myself a PT and sort my life out. I was around 156kg. Last week I had a follow up test and the glucose level has dropped to 38 points which is in the 'normal' range. I've also lost about 30kg, which is…

No compliment from spouse
I being working out for about 10 months. I went from weighing 252 to 188 pounds. I get a lot of compliments from the people I know, and even strangers at the gym. I am in the best shape I been in since I had to take medical steroids that made me gain weight. I enjoy the compliments, but my wife never say anything about my…

What’s Your Simple Pleasure?
Brought the dog in from a rainy walk. He went mental, running up and down stairs, throwing himself on the floor, rolling over wildly, jumping on all the furniture, and barking like it was the greatest thing in the world. He does this after baths, too. So simple but gives him so much pleasure, and I enjoy watching the fool.…

Walking around the track...
I joined a gym to walk around the track for the year. In Heart Failure clients, we can't walk in the cold. It makes our heart work too hard. From Sudden Cardiac Death, we can die. I walked around the track with soccer game going, kids out running me, kids playing on the track, etc. This is better than sitting home and…

Getting Shredded
I started this journey in a pretty bad place. I was 240 lbs and I am only 5 feet 9. Let's just say that I was pretty fat. I have dropped 30 lbs now and I am starting to see some signs of muscle definition again. I am not yet where I want to be as I am sitting at about 19% body fat. I think I will see a huge difference if I…

Losing pain with the weight
I'm a very slow loser, the journey is taking years. One of my issues is joint pain; hips, knees and ankles making walking for exercise hard. I would go for a walk and be incapacitated for a week. Then I crossed a threshold of weight loss and that went away. I could walk an hour or more every day without pain. Well, until…

200 LBS lost, gaining lean mass
In December 2020, I weighed 375 pounds. In a little over a year, I lost just shy of 200 pounds. Got a bit too thin, and obsessed with running and road cycling. Now am one year in to strength training and am gaining back lean muscle mass. MFP helped me change my life. Just over 1050 days of logging, helped with the weight…

Losing weight, and chronic pain
The most difficult thing for me was trying to lose weight when I have so much pain and cannot work out. In April somebody took a picture of me and I looked so terrible that I thought – wow I really have to do something. That began my journey to figure out how to slowly change my diet permanently and I started watching…

MFP is the best tool in my diet and exercise toolbox. What's yours?
I've started a great habit since Nov 11, 2023. It is logging my food and exercise on MFP. This morning I woke up, jumped on the scale (as I do every day) and logged my weight in MFP. I was discouraged to see my weight was the same today as yesterday, then I realized I could click the button on the Reports tab to change the…
