Adjusting macros

Hi, all! I'm beginning a fat fast and I am wondering how I can change my carb goals from 'total' to 'net' in macros (if I can). It's my first fat fast, so wish me luck! Lol

You can't do that. The are some database entries by US users in "net carbs" and you can use browser add ins to present net carb data but you can't set goals in those terms.

Is this the sort of thing you are doing? http://www.ruled.me/using-fat-fasting-technique/

I thought as much. I can easily do it in my head, but it's just more satisfying to see actual numbers, you know? Thanks.

So, what exactly is a fat fast? It’s eating between 1000 and 1200 calories a day, where between 80% and 90% of your calories come from fat, and fat alone. You break these 1000-1200 calories into 4 or 5 meals a day, eating in blocks of 200-250 calories per meal.

It is normally done for 2-4 days, but is never recommended to go for more than 5 days. Going longer than this will start to put your body in a real “starvation mode” and your muscle mass will be metabolized as energy – the exact opposite of what you want.

Yes, low carb works for me and I recently started researching keto diets. A fat fast seemed a logical transition. Just three days, though.

That is it. I'm starting today as a transition to a low carb/keto diet. Just 3 days, though.

Sorry my shock face was at the macro breakdown, the lack of vitamins and the starvation mode woo

But I wish you luck with your chosen approach :)

Yeah, my body is pretty much making the same shocked face at the moment. I've also added magnesium, potassium, and a multivitamin supplement because the macros make my eye twitch.

Thank you for being positive and non-judgmental. :)

I believe you can save modified entries as your own personal foods and then log those. If you did that you could use net carbs instead of carbs, although I would try to avoid saving them to the general/public database, as there's too much there that's wrong already. (It's easier to find your personal foods anyway.)
