September 2, did the 3 minute Bowflex workout. I really liked it. The spiderman finale was rough. I think I will work on this for awhile. Would be nice to make it look as good as the brunette! B)

Okay, suggestions please: I took a major spill yesterday, and caught myself using the palms of my hands and my elbows/forearms. Any pressure on any of these is very painful right now. Is there a way to do plank that doesn't involve those bits? My fingers are fine, I could probably do downward facing dog (didn't try last night because I feel rather bashed and battered) and I know I'll be absolutely fine in about 3 days (I fall a lot. A. Lot. But I get back up again...) but would rather not lose time right at the beginning.

On the other hand, I'm game for working on longer stints later in the month, so I'm still on for the challenge, just wondered what others do when they can't use their hands?

So still at MTD: 8/60 minutes

I'd heal up if you can. You can catch up in a week or less. The month is young. ;)

They were pretty tough for me at first as well. For the longest time I couldn't do them for fear of injuring the discs in my lower back. I started doing them at first on my knees for the first month. Little by little I worked my way up to standard side planks. But I also never do them more than 30 seconds before I switch to the opposite side for 30 seconds. Side crunches also helped build up those muscles for me.

I don't know that I'll hit an hour, but I am shooting for improvement. I am starting at 20 seconds and my knees are on the ground (hence baby planks).

    9/4 baby plank 20 seconds (0:20) 59 min 40 sec
    9/5 baby plank 30 seconds (0:30) 59 min 10 sec

Thank you, absolutely doing so. I don't have too much of a choice: my body says 'not yet', I listen. Looking forward to getting back into it when I can!
