Bad Kitty!
So I bought a cheap digital scale.....and my cat seems to think it's a new toy. She jumps on it every five minutes just to watch it light up, runs away, and repeats......all day long. We have to replace the battery like twice a week! I've started taking the battery out, replacing it when I weigh in, then removing it again.…

Not trying to offend annyone so please read with an open min
OK fitness pals, I have a question that I thought of today: Does sex count as cardio?? And if so, how many calories does one burn during a session? Yes, this is a serious question. Andrea

Question for ladies
I recently went off birth control and thus got my TOM for the first time in 5 years. Needless to say, I am not doing well. I need to work out when I get home, but these cramps just make me want to curl up in a ball. I didn't work out yesterday though because of them, and that was ok since I had worked out several days in a…

cardio question
I know that I'm supposed to alternate strength training days with aerobics. Now this is my question: Does it HAVE to be AEROBICS? Can it count if it raises your heart rate but is not something like step aerobics or an aerobics class? The reason I ask is because I am so uncoordinated. I find it hard to keep up with aerobics…

Situps hurt my butt
For those who couldn't figure it out from the title, I'm having an issue. The biggest factor slowing me down with situps is that my butt grinds into the floor, which is extremely painful. I've tried putting a pillow underneath, and I've tried on carpeting, and neither seems to help. Any suggestions?

(Even though I can run 20 minutes straight, I slacked off today since I hadn't ran in about a week) I feel great other than my hip hurting  I plan to continue week 5 for a week or so, then move on with the rest of couch to 5 K.... HRM calories burned
So, I have a Polar HRM and I just love it, but I was wondering about one of the functions. It will say, for instance, 300 calories burned, 60% fat. What does this mean, and what was the other 40% I burned?

I do my main workout as soon as I wake in the morning, get dressed, then eat breakfast before going to work. I do power walk most days so I am also getting a workout so my…

Since starting the C25K I have learned the benefit of keeping your feet happy and healthy, so I thought I'd share a very cheap and easy way to be kind to your feet. accuracy of HRM??
Hi guys! Does anyone use a Polar F4 HRM? If so, do you find it accurate? The reason I am asking is because I just tested mine out and after my two hour moderately-paced walk it said I burned 935 KCal. That sounds a little high for a walk!! What do you guys think? I know it depends on my heart rate and weight.. and I was…

"FUN" Exercise
I can't stand a gym or aerobics. They put me to sleep. Instead, I figured out things I like to do. For example, I like to ride horses, so I half-leased/month a horse from a stable to ride a couple times a week for exercise. Believe me, after brushing a horse, tacking up, and riding for an hour or two, I'm exhausted. I want…

Do you get numb toes while on machines?
When I'm on the elliptical and the treadmill, the front of my foot and toes start to tingle and/or go numb. Does this happen to anyone else? I've gotten my butt back in gear and I'm working out fairly regularly (at least for the past two weeks) and it's started again. I don't know if it means I'm doing something wrong or…
