I've reached my goal weight... what now?
Little background. For all of you that don't know me, I've been on MFP for over 2 years now, I know my profile doesn't say so, but I was under the name Banks1850 for over a year (long story, don't ask) before I changed to my current one. And for about the last 13 months or so I've been at maintenance. In that time, I've…

Does this seem ok to start out?
I like using the treadmill at the gym but I tend to get bored so I figured I'd start mixing some running into it. Right now starting off I walk at 3.8 for 2-3 min and then will run for about a minute, minute and a half at 6.1, at an incline of 2. I was just wondering if this is ok to start out with???

Prep for 5k
5k on sunday, so nothing new there. However I've never really taken a break from running beforehand since I've had break days built into my running schedule. That has changed recently, and I'm now running 6 days a week. However, sunday would be day 6. So, I'm planning to not run today or tomorrow (unless it can't be…

Anyone get nauseous after or while working out?
I haven't been very active over the last year but I recently started working out. I seem to get nauseous after 40 minutes or after pushing myself. I did a step class last weekend in which I burned about 800 calories as it was intense. At the end of the class, I felt a little dizzy and nauseous. I was wondering if this…

Energy expended and duration of aerobic exercise
I've just noticed something on the Exercise Tab that contradicts what I always believed about aerobic exercise. The number of burned calories for 30 minutes of brisk walking is 163. The number of calories burned for 60 minutes og brisk walking is 326 (exactly double for twice the time). My understanding is that you burn…

Anyone else have tennis elbow?
Does anyone have any good arm exercises that will not interefere with pain from tennis elbow? It seems to be getting worse and I am trying to lay off doing anything that will hurt it more. Are there any exercises that will help with this pain? And do any of you know of any supplements that will aid in tendon health? I…

The problem with Interval training (pretty long)
I was reading a great article in OnFitness magazine (actually one of the old ones, March/April) and wanted to quote a recent article. Credit to Jade and Keoni Teta who are both trainers and writers for OnFitness. This quote is from the March/April 2009 issue from the "Master the Technique" article. and regards Tabata…

The best feeling ever!
I just got back from exercising for about an hour and a half, and I think the best feeling in the world is logging my exercise and finding out I have a spare 559 calories to spend on dinner and snacks tonight! I can't wait for dinner!

Treadclimber
I just got one last week and finally worked out on it last night. I normally walk on my treadmill for 40 mins. So I walked on that for 40 mins as well. It was so much harder to do then the treadmill. I felt like I got a better workout on the Treadclimber. I would recommend it to others as well.

When I input my exercise into this site, what do I call aerobic weight training--I don't see it listed. Also-I did a strength training dvd this morning-Power Strength Training with Rob Glick--and it's weights and different exercises to work muscles. It's a great 1 hour workout and I had swear rolling off of me--and I find…

My achilles hurts!
I have been increasing my running lately and I have noticed that my left achilles hurts when I try to stretch it. I can't do the stretch where you put your foot on a curb and stretch the achilles, and I can go on my tiptoes but it hurts. It doesn't effect my walking or running and doesn't hurt during daily life, but it…

MFP Exercise numbers - question
When I get on the elliptical machine at the gym I enter all the requested data (time, level, weight and age) and then begin. When I get home I enter the info into mfp and it automatically calculates a much higher number. For instance, this morning I was on the machine for 65 minutes (heart rate in mid-high cadio zone for…

Help?! Figuring out goals....
According to my Polar F11 and several averaged 24 hour periods of time with constant wear.... I "burn" about 2600-2800 calories on a daily basis with my regular activities. What would the recommended "daily activity" level be for me? Say I want to lose 2 lbs a week. Is this how I'd do the math for that? 2600 (total…

Help with a training plan
I'm going up to my cabin today through Sunday and I would like to run some later today and tomorrow. My mile time is around 9:55 and I'd like to improve it. I have a stopwatch (ipod) and I'm planning on looking up distances around my cabin. Could anyone help me come up with a plan? :flowerforyou:

Exercise TV On Demand
If you have Exercise TV on Demand, I recommend the workout Less is More Cardio with Cindy Whitmarsh. It is a 30 min. cardio workout that is similar to Jillian Michael's Banish Fat Boost Metabolism. I did the workout this morning, and I was a puddle of sweat by the end.

Recommendations, please
What dvds can you recommend to me? I like strength training ones. I like calesthenic ones--but only low impact sorts of things due to knee problems. I'm not a big fan of overly complicated or dancy ones since I can't seem to keep up with them and I'm not super-coordinated. TIA! :flowerforyou:

Which exercise should I do?
Okay, I have been walking almost every day since I started this whole thing, and while I just lovelovelove it, I think I need to incorporate something new on top of it for like two or three days a week just to give my body something new to do, and to maybe jump start some toning. I have lost a couple inches with walking,…
