Attention MFP smarty-pants: help me!
SBS, Banks, and other smart folks. . .I need your help! OK, so I'm an oldster around here and like to think that I have it all figured out. But, for the past six months, I've developed a severe quandary/plateau. Here's the deal: I'm trying to maintain my current size (although a teeny bit smaller wouldn't piss me off) and…

Proud moments
I turned down free papa john's pizza at work today. Went in, smelled it... stomach rolled ... and I walked right back out. Go me! Side note, when I started this job I weighted 208. I will be there again next week (5lbs to go).

Eating well while eating out
I went out to eat the other night last minute and was quite worried that I was going to go over on my calories. I only had about 400 or so. We went to the Old Spaghetti Factory and I knew that would be LOTS of calories! I did it though!!! I had one tiny heal of bread, a salad with low fat dressing, whole wheat spaghetti…

I only JUST ate breakfast And I'm still hungry! But according to my1200 cal plan, I only have 794 for the day. I had an english muffin, peanut butter, and an apple. I'm new to this so advice, or clarification, or filling, inexpensive meal plans would be much appreciated.

Fat Restriction
Is it true that diets with less than 5 grams of fat per day are unhealthy? I mean, are diets that cut out fat completely counterintuitive?

Hi everyone! And are there any vegetarians in the house?
Okay, first and foremost I want to introduce myself... I'm new to this site, just started it today, but it looks like it'll be a BIG help to me. My name is Dorie. I'm married & the mom of a two-year-old. When I was pregnant with my little guy I had some pregnancy problems (high blood pressure for example) and was put on…

Need some help
I am looking for some food ideas that require no refridgeration or heating. I work doing residential cleaning and my food for the day must travel in a car, I have a small insulated bag to carry my stuff in and some things will remain cool, but not cold. I also have no way to heat any foods. I tried hummus and I do not care…

What's the healthiest type of milk??
I used to drink Whole milk, and I absolutely LOVED the taste. Honestly, it's one of the best tastes in the food/beverage world for me. Now, since I've been on a diet and am trying to lose weight and be in better shape, I've switched to Fat-free milk. It's ok, and I don't mind using it for my cereal and whatnot, but the…

Best tuna fish sandwich EVER
I don't know if it is because I worked out this morning (usually do so in evening) which made me hungrier or if I hit some wonderful stage in this weight loss journey of mine, but I just had the best tuna fish sandwich EVER. Just canned tuna on toasted Publix bakery bread with some grape tomatoes on the side, but it tasted…

Should I eat all my calories today?
I got 7 hours of sleep last night (I woke up at 8) and was hanging out until 12. Around 12, I was so sleepy I could barely stay awake, so I was going to take a one hour nap from 12-1 pm. My alarm ended up not going off, and so I slept until 6 pm! :grumble: Now, I have 937 calories left for dinner. But if I'm only awake for…

Alternative to turkey bacon?!
I'm going to just come out and say it - I hate turkey bacon. The smell lingers in my kitchen for WAY too long, and it isn't very satisfying. Regular bacon is my vice (and I'm talking thick, meaty, fatty, farm grown slices  ), so is there anyone out there that knows a good...compromise?

Another Cholesterol Question
This may have been answered but I didn't see it... is there a minimum cholesterol level you should be shooting for in your food journals? I know the max is 300mg for most but I wasn't sure if there was a minimum. I know some cholesterol is good and has a place in your diet. I'm coming in very, very low... like under 100mg…

Calories, calories and more calories...
Hey all, I'm hoping someone out there has an answer for this. I just want to know about total calories vs net calories. I understand that net calories is total calories consumed minus exercise and that the net calories is what you should be watching/counting for weight loss, but what I don't understand is if the "exercise"…

I'm trying Herbalife supplements and wondered if anyone out there has used them and whether they worked for you or not. If they don't work I'd much rather spend the money on fresh veggies.

For all the meat eaters...read up.
I hope no one was expecting an anti-meat agenda reading the title of the post, gosh, this will be far from it. Omnivores, carnivores, rejoice and go have a filet. I know there has been some banter back and forth about including meat in one's diet and the perceived health of doing so. Most that read my posts are aware I'm…
