MFP protein goals seem high
I am hoping I can explain this in a way that makes sense. On MFP my protein goal is 88. Does that seem high for a woman who is 5'6 124? I did some research and it looks like an average woman should have about 50 grams of protein per day. Why would mine be so high? Does the goal go up with the more exercise you do? I do run…

Strange Exercise and Diet Question
I have a strange question that may sound like bragging, but I'm genuinely baffled. Cutting to the chase, when I work out I lose weight. Period. It's really that simple. I have basically been on a diet for a year and found as soon as I stopped exercising I started putting weight back on. Even when I stayed within daily…

Anti-psychotic meds and weight gain.
Some people have expressed an interest in this problem, so , without suggesting radical calorie restriction, I thought we should discuss it. First of all, anti-psychotics should not be confused with anti-depressants like Prozac or Wellbutrin. Examples of anti-psychotics are Abilify, Zyprexa, Clozapine, and Haldol. They are…

In a calorie deficit but haven’t lost weight
Hi all, 4 weeks ago I started out at 16st 13lb, I’m a 6ft2 40 year old male. I started tracking daily calorie and exercise on the MFP App. I lost a fair bit in week one and have lost 2lbs a week since then. But this week, nothing has changed in my diet or exercise plan (that has been working) and I’ve put on 1lb. I’m not…

Do you use the - Weekly Digest under Reports to evaluate How your doing on MFP
I found this great tool on MFP quite by accident this morning when I went to look at a graph on my weight loss for the last year. It's called the Weekly Digest and it had so really great information that I will in the future to evaluate how I am doing. Here is the link that take you directly to it…

How do you deal with hunger?
Hi, I am working on losing 60 lbs but I find it difficult because I start feeling very hungry when I am eating less than I burn even a little and start to want to just eat a bunch of food in one sitting. How do you deal with the hungry feeling? I don't like it and feel it almost constantly. Do you get used to it?

Fat loss
If I’m in a calorie deficit and lose about 1lb a week. Roughly how much of that is body fat. I started at 230 and am now 220 and went from 26%-25% I’m confused how I’ve lost 10 lbs in about 2 months and only 1% of fat? What’s the rest then muscle? I work out 5-6 days a week at 2 hours a day. An hour cardio, 45 minutes…

Too Much Exercise and Too Few Carbs...
Hi! I have about 70lbs to lose and just turning 64, Type2 diabetic (well controlled). I've lost 10lbs so far but my weight swings 3 -4lbs either way, no net decrease yet. Being an endormorph my physique is heavy set, heavy muscle and bone. I am exercising a lot, it seems as I am racking up the carb credits but can't…

Activity levels and rate of loss question
Hi all, I have a question regarding activity level settings. I think I may have mine set too low. I began using MFP five weeks ago, and lost weight quite quickly, (8lbs in the first two weeks) but assumed this was water weight and things would slow down a lot. I'm 33, 5'6 and my starting weight was 168lbs 13/1/2021, and…

Body fat loss
If I lose a pound a week will I lose body fat? I’m 33, 220 pounds and am allowed 2200 calories a day. I usually eat about 2000-2100 and exercise 4-6 times a week from Zumba, yoga, cardio and weights. I’m sticking to my calories and staying under and so far have lost about 15 pounds in 3 months! I’m currently 25% body fat…

Steps taken versus exercise walking/hiking
Could I get a little clarification, I see that the steps taken from my Google Fit are imported, but "walking" as an exercise must be added separate? Are the steps simply to assess lifestyle? As in if I got for a walk in the dunes, I should make sure to log it as exercise and not just import the steps taken? Thank you!

Not loosing weight but loosing motivation
I'm sure you've all heard this before but I don't understand why I am being not loosing weight and its becoming disheartening. A few months ago I would easily be consuming 3,000 with half of those being from alcohol. I now don't drink alcohol, don't eat meat, no bread, rice or pasta and I'm loosing 4oz. I really have to…

Help with a calorie deficit
Hi everyone! Need some advice as after trying hard since the start of the year, I've lost and gained the same 3lbs over and over again and it's starting to get me down. I'm 28, female, weigh 13st exactly, and I'm 5"8. I eat well - exercise often, walk twice a day for at least an hour total with my dog and I've started…

Why does moderation work for some people but not all?
I have a really strong sweet tooth. I can eat within my calorie budget some days, and have a treat or two within my range. But other days, I can't seem to stop myself from absolutely going off the rails with any sweets around me. Why is that? Any thoughts? Being able to manage it and eat a few jelly beans at at time or a…

What is an unsafe weight loss rate and why?
I keep reading that you should keep weight loss to under about 1%/week. Since Jan 1, I've been losing a bit over that at about 1.2% per week, half of which is a food calorie deficit and the other half is additional exercise (running and cycling). What might be the complications of losing weight too quickly, other than just…

In a deficit and always hungry
Hi, I’m 32, 174cm (5’7), and at 71kgs (156lbs). TDEE is 2400 and I eat around 1900-2000cal per day. Workout 4-5 times a week. I’ve been in a calorie deficit since September. I lost around 10kg (20lbs) in 20 weeks which matches my goal. I only have a few more pounds to lose and they all seem to be located in my belly fat.…

Calorie help, TDEE and BMR
Good morning, I'm hoping someone can help me figure out how many calories I should be eating, because I'm having trouble getting a good solid answer and for some reason my brain just can't compute. I had testing done, and my BMR was 2409. Apart from 30 minutes of exercise 4 times a week I'm essentially sedentary, now that…
