TDEE -20% do not eat Execersise calories - MFP DO eat
Ok, now I am confused - I calculated my MFP calories per day and it is alloting me 1580. Scooby site (-20%) is 1574 calories a day and there is a third TDEE site I cannot remember the name for but it alloted me 1580 calories a day. so my question is this: If the TDEE -20% is per day NOT eating back calories from exercise…

Water question - how big are these 8 glasses?
Exactly this? In the diagram on your page, they look like pint glasses to me. Do you drink pints in the States? Sorry for my ignorance? Anyway, if it is 8 pints a day, that works out at 4.5 litres and incidentally, two consultant neurologists have told me that a person should consume between 3 - 4 litres of fluid to keep…

Please, please, please! Everyone stop "dieting"!
There is no such thing as a "quick fix", or target your hard to lose areas, or cut out carbs and you'll lose weight!! This is all false advertising so you will buy the books! Think about it! If these indeed did work, then there would not be an obesity crisis in North America, AND most of you would not need to join…

just did my first weigh in since joining this site
I was at 414 on July 2nd... and then joined this site a week later so in the two weeks since then I'm down 6 1/2 pounds and a whole lot more to go ... Hi, Just wondering if anyone can help! I'm struggling with how you measure say 1/4 or 1/2 lb weight loss! If I try and put a 1/4 in as 0.25 it just automatically changes to 0.2 so does anyone know how you measure a 1/4, 1/2 and 3/4 weight loss because it means it's now showing the correct amount I've lost, only by about a…

I lost a lot of weight and gained it back very fast?
Okay so last year before I found mfp I wasn't very happy with my body so I started to restrict a lot of 'bad' food groups such as gluten, high carb vegetables and some fruits. I would eat breakfast, lunch and dinner but never overate. I had no idea how to diet in a healthy manner, I thought I was doing it the right way.…

How did your doctor tell you you're fat??
I recently switched family doctors. Why, you ask? Well, I went in for an unrelated issue - one that still had me wearing the paper gown - and my doctor said to me when she lifted it up "Oh wow, you have a small face but such a big body". Then proceeded to prescribe me weight loss pills (which I never filled the…

Just wanted to post this to tell you that there is light at the end of the tunnel. Eating healthy should be a life journey and nothing temporary but for those eating at a deficit and having a hard time it will get easier. Not only will it get easier because your body will adjust to a lower calorie intake but once you reach…

Think I finally got it
Joined up to MFP a while ago, always thought that the 1200 was what I had to stick to lose any amount of weight, but I was always starving and fell off the wagon, every second day. Just reading some great posts on TDEE, BMR etc and I think it makes sense as to why I was always hungry on 1200. I have a desk job, but i drink…
