Happy Wednesday! 😀 Last child on bus, now it’s just me and Ewok until 11:15. I might just take a nap. Still working on my finances but things seem to be falling in place. Tomorrow I have an eye appointment and then my friends will pick me up from eye doctor and take me to late lunch for my birthday. I hate driving when my eyes have been dilated so this works out great.
Rob really appreciates me doing this so it is worth getting up early.

Lin, sorry, you lost your post.

Jackie, glad you didn’t get snow, we might on Friday. I wouldn’t like to walk in the rain to school so I would be one of those people.😜

Patsy, you are a jack of all trades, impressive.

Anne, glad Mark is feeling better, he is vaccinated right?

Nothing exciting going on here, so have a good day.

Not much going on here except it’s a beautiful day if chilly.
Mark and Mary Jo are both fully vaccinated Sandy, but a lot of good that did as Mark told Michael he’s never felt so ill. I haven’t had Corvid so far, I got the allergic reaction to the vaccine instead.

What follows is not morbid but more rather boring, skip if you don’t want to be bored.

Meanwhile my ex has told my eldest that when he falls off his perch he wants him to get on a plane headed for England clutching his ashes and then to chuck his ashes into the dark North Sea. Why anyone would want this beats me. The dark North Sea is a cold cruel sea as someone who comes from the east coast and it’s fisher and trawler men can testify. Different strokes, eh. My Australian cousin wrote today and I had to smile because her dad who was a sea captain said of her mothers family (and thus mine) that we never die, if someone wants to get rid of us they have to shoot us. This I can understand as most of the ladies on my mothers (and aunts) side lived well into their nineties. This is not a morbid post, I am full of the joys of spring, just a little perplexed. About the North Sea wish. He’s no connection to the North Sea apart from the odd paddle on a rare warm day of 50 degrees Fahrenheit. He’s a farmer son. Remember the song anyone? Who’s that hammering on the anvil, down by the dark North Sea. Tis’ Thor striking on the anvil, and Odin where the sparks run free. Something to that effect anyway.

Well got that off my chest! Actually I am definitely on the mend from the allergies. Today to Jilly’s horror, because I have an AWFUL singing voice, I burst into song. Spring is on the way. The mounds of snow are slowly disappearing, the birds are singing and much better than me, alls right with the world!

Good evening. Just a short note (and hoping it will post 🤞🏻). I went to the post office early and mailed my St. Patrick's Day cards. It was raining lightly then. After I got home, I wrote out my property tax checks for both my house and my farm and trudged out to the mailbox so they would get picked up today. I did some laundry, and watched the rain change to little ice balls! Yipes! Luckily those stopped fairly quickly. Winter weather warning is out now for tomorrow morning through sometime on Friday I believe. Apparently snow is expected this time.

I wrote other checks, hunted down packages that were to be delivered today but I couldn’t find them.

So pretty much a normal day here.

Anne, I hope you had a good day.

Jackie, wondering what color you decided on for your hair this time.

Sandy, did you get a nap? Finances take some time to work out, hopefully you don’t feel pushed to make decisions.

    Be safe my friends.

    Lin🙋🏼‍♀️

Hi everybody. Yes I had a super day yesterday LIN. Actually, most of my days are happy. The only ones that are less than perfect are when something hurts as in knees creaking when it is excessively cold.

We had a good sleep as well, tucked up in the back bedroom. Much darker away from street lighting and much quieter as well. We had visitors though judging by the paw prints of a fox or coyote in the snow and just outside the bedroom window.

Just popped in to say Morning All because it’s grocery delivery day and I need to give the hair a trim before I leap into the shower.

Just had to tell you. I ordered the groceries for 10 to 12 o’clock delivery window. Good job I went for my shower, the guy delivered at 7:50! Turns out someone on the next street has an early delivery, so rather than do the rounds after his delivery to them and deliver me last, the men hope I’m up! At least everything is fresh! Me as well as I’d just emerged from the shower looking “lovely” and combing out my frizzy locks.

Hello friends. Yesterday, I was over 3 hours with my hairdresser while she used foils for one colour of not so streaky streaks then, after a shampoo another colour was placed all over so I’ve ended up with a colour I can’t easily describe. A hint of gold, pink and natural grey!
    sp3j6s1mko77.jpeg
I’m pleased with the outcome because it isn’t too obvious. By the time I returned home and lit the fire I felt exhausted even after sitting most of the day.
It remains mild in Cornwall so we continue to avoid the heavy snow and after a walk round a muddy field with George and Betty, I collected Linda and drove on to the moor for coffee and cake. A lady arrived with a mini George at one point and proceeded to not only feed him a constant supply of treats but then shared her sausage, egg and bacon breakfast! That poor dog!! While we sat for a couple of hours, low clouds and mist drifted in so we decided to head home, Linda to continue a long process of typing a manuscript of a friend’s novel and me to start Spring cleaning in my kitchen.

Anne, I agree, it’s a better option to receive the first grocery delivery then relax knowing you don’t have to wait. As for tossing ashes into the North Sea, I hope you know someone living in that area who would agree to a special transatlantic delivery and take a small boat out on a calm day to dispose of it. It would save the cost of a return flight and accommodation!

What an eclectic collection Lin! A very light feather duster would be needed to flick dust off to avoid accidents.

Sandy, enjoy your lunch with friends. A great arrangement after an eye test!

Patsy, are you ensconced in your dungeon?

Time for me to attack my kitchen surfaces. I’m quite looking forward to it!

    Happy Thursday.
    Jackie 🥰

Help JACKIE, I’ve no intention of being tossed in the North Sea!!! If you misunderstood. I’ll let Mike know your suggestion though if his father persists in wanting poor Mike to do the honours. Personally I’d just chuck him in Lake Ontario. Much cheaper and he won’t be around to know!

Your hair is very pretty by the way.

Hello, I keep losing my posts. User error? Maybe.

It is trash day and I have more than I can stuff into the trash cart. Saving some for next week. Akkkch,

Jackie: love the new color and style on the hair. Very attractive. Since I do my own, I have never learned the trick of really good coloring. Mine is all or nothing.

Lin: we had little ice balls as well. Katie loves to go out on the deck and eat them like ice cream. The bookkkeeping chores eat up a day and in the end, it feels like nothing was accomplished.

Anne: I agree with you about the disposition of our final remains. Who cares? We will not know and why demand a huge expensive effort for the fish to enjoy? I suspect sometimes it is an effort to control when we are gone. I hope Mike considers these things carefully when the time comes.

Sandy: I know you are enjoying you grandmother duties. Also the kids love having you around. Would you ever consider living with your son? In Europe there are many multi-generational households. We had that. Only I lived with my grandparents. My parents came to visit when my dads work permitted. We live in changing times. Who knows what comes next?

Good evening. Several inches of wet heavy snow today. But the temperature was close to freezing so there was some melting. Refreezing overnight and then more snow coming. I didn’t listen closely but definitely Saturday and perhaps Sunday.

I have a number of things on Amazon’s subscribe and save that were to be delivered today. One item arrived and the rest (in one box) went from delayed to being delivered by 10pm, to may be delivered by the 12th. And if not, request a refund. What a crazy time. I felt like a ping pong ball getting jostled about.

Patsy, what else can you do but save the extra trash until the next week. I do that sometimes. I kind of think I am headed in that direction for the next pickup on Tuesday. Every once in a while, I think I would like one of those dumpsters to fill!

Jackie, I adore your hair. It is marvelous!! It sounds like coffee and cake was a very fun time to visit.

Anne, an early delivery is nice but sometimes it is too early! Good thing you are prepared.

Sandy, how was the birthday celebration? Hope it was lots of fun.

I am looking for tiny extra touches for the front of my Easter cards. Just cannot find the ‘right’ thing.

I did speak to several friends today which was nice.

    Be safe everyone.

Finally I am sitting down to catch up on how things are going with everyone. Not that I am very busy, but my computer is calling me....LOL

Sandy it sounds like you have been quite busy doing what all that you had to do and now looking after the grandkids a couple of days a week. It gets you out of the house too. Sending them off to school and being there to pick them up. Can get exhausting, especially with 3 but it only will last a few months before your break. My 4 month period of having my granddaughter 5 days a week after school became the whole school year. She was in kindergarten. Rarely see her now because they are so busy, so I am very thankful we got to really enjoy her.

Patsy so glad that you were able to get the required medical care to help you feel better. Medication side effects can be nasty some times. Be sure to get the rest you need to get over what lingers. Thinking of you and your husband.

Lin....Have you been working on any puzzles or has your card designing taken over those hours. You are so talented !! Hardly enough time in the day to get all of your books read. I am sure you are an avid reader too. I tend to do a couple of puzzles a week. I bought myself a set of Apple Airpods. I tried my daughters at Christmas and I loved them. I listen to a variety of music. These Airpods are quite the invention and definitely worth their money.

Jacki....I love your your new haircut and the coloring is so pretty !! I have almost all white hair now like my mom did. I am seriously considering coloring it with highlights, but just the thought of having to grow it out again makes me think twice, plus it would be very costly.

Anne I bet you are loving your fireplace that your son got for you. Is it a heater ? On a stormy day it would be so nice to enjoy looking at it. No doubt it is helping to keep you warmer with all of the storms you are having. Great purchase ! I really miss our real fireplace from our last house. Have to settle for a fireplace on the tv. Better than nothing I guess.

Recently my dr decided it was time to increase a med I have been on. My BP seems to go up and down for no reason. Plus I am seeing an endocrinologist for a change in meds for my thyroid. Now I get reactions and don't know exactly which rx it is. Trying to sort out the BP situation first. However my new thyroid med has me sleeping 3 nights in a row of only 5 hrs each night. Plus I have lots of energy. Too much I suspect. Thinking it has to be changed or adjusted too. More lab work....

Another pineapple express has hit our coastline today with rain and strong winds expected for a whole week. So much snow in the mountains roads are closed and ski resorts are staying closed since they have more snow than they can handle. The Bay Area and Southern California have had snow in places even along the beaches. With the howling winds I wonder how many more trees will go down as well as neighbors fences. So glad we moved from our last house because the trees in our backyard were huge. Once the new growth started in the spring we often would loose branches. What a mess it was to clean up. Pray for everyones safety during these difficult times. Can't even imagine being homeless right now. Those numbers are multiplying as the cost of living and job loss is affecting many in our state. So thankful for what we do have.

Hello to Barbie and Jerri and anyone else I may have forgotten.

    Take care, Diane

Dear Sandy, you are a very special lady and I’m proud to consider you a friend. You’ve had a rough start to the year and deserve so much more. Today is the first day of the rest of your life and I’m sure, being surrounded by love as you are, things are looking up. It’s in the stars!!
Happy birthday! Enjoy your celebrations. 🍾🥂🎁🎈

    Hugs across the pond.

HAPPY, HAPPY BIRTHDAY SANDY. I bet you are in for a fun day with those grand kids. Have a chunk of birthday cake for us sneakers as we wish you a year filled with love and laughter.

It’s garbage day here on another snowy day, so I hope the lads appear early to cart away a whole month of garbage. Although the blue box gets picked up weekly the big garbage is every two weeks and I missed the last pick up because of a skating rink drive.

Not only SANDYs birthday but maybe a super day for me and the pup. Mark might come over although he’s still got the sniffles. He ventured forth yesterday for coffee filters. Essential, our coffee filters. !!!

Your hair is really pretty Jackie. When we hit on a super haircut I sometimes wish it would stop growing and remain gorgeous forever.

Loved yesterday posts. Lots of good advice, great ideas, pretty teapots. We are all handling the snow very well including Katie who loves to eat snowballs!

    Anne.

Gosh, I’ve just been outside to feed a porridge oats and natural yogurt mix to the hens and discovered it’s freezing again. Our morning walk on the moors was windy but not so cold so I’m glad we got that out of the way early. Not much planned today although I might do more spring cleaning as it’s definitely not gardening weather! Next Friday Linda and I are going to take a few items to a Hospice charity shop in a town called Launceston, about 15 miles away so it’s a great opportunity for me to rummage through a collection cluttering up the spare room that I no longer have need for.

Anne, I did think it was your ex’s ashes that were destined for the North Sea, not yours, but would still suggest they be sent via parcel post across the Atlantic, more so actually!

Lin, yesterday’s collection of teapots and other Knick-knacks looks rather scary as I’m not sure it would be safe to open a door on that cupboard without its contents spilling out! It is annoying when Amazon packages become split or delayed. Our weekend delivery service is generally more reliable than week days because local people looking for an extra income pick up from their warehouses and deliver using their own transport. I have a pleasant young man that I’ve got to know who covers Saturday and a young Romanian lady on Sunday.

Diane, my hairdresser colours my hair in such a way that I don’t get a growing out line through my hair, more of a soft merging! I think it’s to do with the second base colour that joins everything up. None of it’s cheap though but because my natural grey is a rather boring colour I’m happy to pay. If it was white like you say yours is, I would probably just have a flash of pink in one spot.

Patsy, families living together in adulthood is increasing in Britain because of the cost of living increasing so much. Young people generally can’t afford to buy or rent their own property so don’t move out and the trend does tend to be parents continuing to look after their kids rather than the other way around. My friend Linda continues to worry about her sister in law’s situation as she is partially blind and being what can only be described as bullied by her son and DIL who have power of attorney. It’s all to do with money so turning nasty.

Great to hear from you Diane and know you are safe. I wasn’t sure if you lived nearby to where all that snow had fallen in the past couple of weeks.

The dogs are snoozing in front of the fire and I must decide whether to be active or follow their example!

    Happy Friday
    Jackie 🥰

I can’t see my refuse bins it’s snowing so hard. It’s on record as being the darkest winter ever. That I can believe. Mr sun went off on holiday elsewhere I guess!
Jackie, I still think Lake Ontario is a better idea, lol. And cheaper!

For what it’s worth never ever live with your children unless finances forces one to. Best they visit and you remain in control. I say this because of various friends situations, and believe me I couldn’t personally have better sons and a daughter in law. I don’t want to spoil what I have !!

Just had a mini adventure. The garbage men came and who can blame the poor young man who emptied mine. He dropped it wherever. The conditions outside are just awful. A blizzard with strong wind. I was horrified to see my bin rolling around in the middle of the road, a hazard for motorists. So decked in anorak and boots, out I go but the snow is so high on the snow left at the side of the road by the snow ploughs I’m wondering how the heck I can get over it. A Good Samaritan came along, with wouldn’t you guess a dog on a leash and delivered it over the snow bank from which I tottered down the drive to lock it in the garage.

I think I can claim to be a true Canuck (Canadian) now after 50 years in this beautiful but sometimes cruel weather country. 🇨🇦🇨🇦🇨🇦🇨🇦🇨🇦

Happy Friday! :) Thank you all for the wonderful birthday greetings, you girls are the best!! <3
I had a great birthday celebration with my friends at a wonderful restaurant we all love.
We did do some gambling even though we said we weren't going too as we are going to the casino in two weeks. We had fun even though we lost a little money. Next celebration is Sunday, with Cheryl, Marisa and Cheryl's SIL.
I will sit next week Monday and Friday because we made plans to go for an early St. Patrick's Day dinner on Wednesday. My friend's husband has a cousin who owns a pub that will serve corned beef and cabbage, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday. We are going two days early to avoid the crowds.
I am with Anne as far as living with my kids. I love them dearly but I like my independence and plan on living alone for a long, long time. Once I figure out where I am living it will help but there is no rush.
So even though today is my official birthday I am staying in and doing laundry. I did get a new eye prescription so I may take a ride to Walmart to get it filled. We will see.

Have a great day and thank you again for being such kind and good friends.
