Does fat become more loose as we continue to gym?

I weighed a 101 kg and after two months at the gym I weighed 96 kg. But after those two months I couldn't continue going to the gym because of college constraints and travelling. It's close to 4 months since I quit the gym now and I'm eating normally, not over the top or anything but I can't help but notice that my body fat has become more loose and awkward. It's almost as if I've gained weight? Was it the wrong time to quit the gym? Is there no way to quit the gym once you've started it?

I assume you've put on weight and lost a little muscle

you don't need to go to the gym to work out nor to stick to appropriate maintenance calories

and the thing with being fit / right weight is if you don't eat at maintenance / keep exercising you lose it

What does eating at maintenance mean? I think I'll have to make time and join the gym again...

you lose weight by eating less calories than you burn - roughly 3500 less calories than you use up = 1lb weight loss

if you eat the same number of calories as you burn you are eating at maintenance eg I use up 2300 a day (averaged over the last 3 months including all my workouts / walks / living etc) - if I eat 2300 a day roughly I'm staying the same

if I eat more than 2300 I'm putting on weight

Ok thank you. Btw does the order of the exercises you do at the gym make a difference? Does it matter if I do the treadmill first or the cycling machine or the elliptical/cross trainer? What would be the ideal order?
