We managed to break our 25 year old crock pot, so it's time for a new one. Does anyone have a favorite model or special features they recommend, our should I just buy something cheap?

Definitely not the something cheap option. They've changed safety standards so that newer crockpots aren't allowed to heat up as high as the old ones. The result is a lot of them do some ugly uneven heating. The Cuisenart ones get the best reviews on that end, and a few people recommended this one to me. Since my issue was in the cord, I decided to hunt down a replacement for that instead, and hoping that maybe in a few more years they'll figure out how make them work like the old ones.
