Sometimes I catch myself doing the vain swaggering and posturing that used to annoy me when I saw others do it. Sometimes I have to exercise a little control to just be proud but not vain. Having said that, i think it is harmless and maybe even good (for my confidence) to admire myself in the mirror fists on hips doing the Superman pose or flexing to check muscle development.

:D While I have avoided Superwoman stances - I am trying to learn to be more comfortable with my reflection in the mirror. I am getting better and do spend more in time in front of one, although can still be a bit bleurgh when I catch sight of my profile in a shop window! Photgraphs are a whole other ball game - my hatred of the camera is as passionate as ever. Photographs still make me feel huge even though I am quite close to my first goal now. Why do photgraphs make me feel so much bigger than what I see in the mirror?

I have made it far enough to love the camera, and profiles the most. That's absolutely vanity but after years of trying to make sure I am facing the camera and sucking my gut in, to have candid profiles actually look good is a really great feeling.

Note to self; need to get some properly sized gym shorts.

Academy is currently having a back-to-school sale on gym clothes. I just picked up 2 new pairs of futbol shorts for $12 a piece (Adidas brand), normal price is $24 each.

    - how you can lose 80 lbs and then run a marathon, climb mountains, bike a few centuries, bike the coast of an entire island nation in 7 days and still feel like it's not enough.

That’s exactly what I’m really aiming for. Which island nation did you cycle around? That sounds fantastic.

Taiwan with a Giant crew. 550 miles in 7 days. The first 3 days were each 100 miles. We had to board the train with our bike for two small sections due to hazardous road conditions. I could tell stories about that adventure forever. It was actually written up in Bicycling magazine. I came to do it because a member of our cycling club was Taiwanese and said ‘psst! I have an idea!’ Lol

There were 11 of us on the trip from my cycling club. 2 women and 9 men. There were 3 Giant employees with us. 1 drove the support van. 1 lead guy and 1 follow guy.

Oh my, I’d love to do something like that! Well done to you!

    :)
