Just did a low carb Cinco de Mayo lunch. Everyone around us were drinking margaritas, one table had a pitcher of them. At one point in my life, I would have gone over and made some new "friends" to share in that. Today it was "meh" I'll just have my Friday night planned glass of white wine at dinner instead. Yea, LCHF WOE!!12

At a party last night I had 3 people compliment my legs on being tone and one girl who didn't recognise me at first ended up grilling me on my current diet and was really suprised when she found out I'd been eating bacon for breakfast this past week.15

My run was a hot mess this am. Spring means more ducks than usual in the 'hood so my dog who is a great running buddy was crazy today. My cotton running leggings are too big and kep falling down. Once I was pretty sure the world was going to see everything god gave me. >_<
Between the dog lunging at ducks and. Me hiking my pants up ever 2 seconds it was quite the spectacle I'm sure. But, 4.5 miles completed.
So, loose pants and a long street run while incredibly irritating this am, are still NSVs. Lol

Had Facebook bring up a photo from the summer I turned 18 (so three kids and er..."a couple" of years ago)...I will never wear a bikini in public again for obvious reasons, but I felt sort of victorious, haha !

I'm 47 & I've had acne since I was a teen. I know it's hormonal but nothing I did ever helped. Add in that I suffer from the addictive condition Dermatillomania (compulsive skin picking) and it's been a lifelong struggle.
I've been low carb to varying degrees since 2003 but I went full Keto March 8 & today, May 8, my skin is totally cleared!!!!!!
My weight loss is stalled right now but if I never lose another pound, this amazing result is worth ALL the effort. I feel like I'm freed from a prison! Since there's nothing there I stopped picking, since I stopped picking there's nothing there. I'm now having dreams of leaving the house without wearing coverup makeup when my scars fade. This is an incredible life change. Thank you LCHF!!20 -

Losing the acne was awesome. I didn't fully grasp the cause/effect relationship until I decided to try eating a big tub of popcorn and my face broke out. It took better than 3 weeks of being keto again for that breakout to subside. I always thought it sucked to have both acne and gray hair. Now, I only have the gray. Fortunately, on a man, it makes me look distinguished.6 -
@cstehansen Haha! I've always said that about acne & gray hair at the same time being totally unfair lol
I've been eating whole foods & strictly grain free for 13 years with my only carb creep coming from fruits, veg, and small amounts of maple syrup/honey, sometimes legumes. So it was a huge surprise to me to have this result because I didn't think I was eating anything that could cause it. But I think the insulin balance I've now achieved with Keto must have evened out all my other hormones as well. It's remarkable!2 -

It's three o'clock in the morning and.....first keto energy rush is upon me. Feels so good! Luckily no early morning plans, so I'm up and rolling with it.
I really do luv this feeling. One of my fave keto benefits. It's been longer than I care to admit since I felt it.
Also ketostix are in the light purple range. I guess that is another little energy rush!
And I lost 1.6 lbs since yesterday AM. Third little energy rush!
It all adds up to a Whopping Wowza!

NSV: 7 straight days of logging, steadily moving towards the end of the month to meet my mini-goals.
I've been very quiet for the last few months... logging on, checking out informational links, and reading about everyone's achievements. It was this ---> reading about everyone's achievements, that struck me. Why did I waste all this time doing "nothing" when I could've been participating with my own victories too!? I could've already lost 10-15 pounds by now?? I have reasons I can point to, but ultimately all the pointing is focused straight at me. I am fully responsible for my actions.
And so... here I am (again... or more)

I've been doing keto for 1 full month now and I'm so very happy that not even once did I go over my carb limit of 20 net carbs. it's taken me a bit of time getting used to upping my protein but I'm on track and actually enjoying myself. Enjoying myself and trying to lose weight has never gone together for me. So amazing.
As it happens I'm off to a luxury condo in the mountains for a couple of days. My meals are planned, even some keto friendly snacks. The best part of this is I'm getting paid and the trip is free as I'm taking a client.9 -
@Bouddle please forgive me.
I swear i didn't mean it... call it a mental Freudian slip.
I could have sworn you wrote,The best part of this is I'm getting laid and the trip is free as I'm taking a client.
I need to get out more.
Or stay in.....3 -
I knew in theory, that this should be the case, but this WOE dramatically reduced my muscle soreness post weight lifting. I have been working out regularly most of the last 30+ years. Typically, I switch up my routine every 6-8 weeks, sometimes a little shorter and sometimes a little longer.
For about 5 weeks, I moved to minimal strength training and more cardio and even reduced the intensity there. I was basically taking time off without taking it completely off. Anyway, I am not most of the way through my second week back to much more strenuous weight lifting with almost no soreness.
When I have done this before, the first week or two would be brutal where going down stairs too quickly would hurt my pecs the day after chest workouts. This time, nothing. It is not because I am not working as hard because the amount I did on the pec deck this morning was 40 lbs more than last week and I did it easier, so I am working hard enough.
It is also clearly not because I magically became younger and heal faster.....hm.....or maybe I have.....6 -

@JessicaMcB You are absolutely beautiful and I think you should wear your stretch marks proudly. You gave life from your body and should be proud of the amazing example you are setting for your children.9 -
@JessicaMcB I wholeheartedly agree with @StacyChrz. The marks on your tummy are testimony to who you are, and what you have achieved. You have absolutely nothing whatsoever to be self-conscious about. You're looking fabulous, and I think you deserve to celebrate that, to the full extent.
Any naysayers have a problem with their perception of what really matters. If you get criticism, that's their stupidity, not your physique.
OMG, look at you! LOOK - AT - YOU!!!8 -
Yesterday at yoga/pilates class my instructor commented that she noticed I had lost a lot of weight this year.
Well, no, not at all, in fact I've gained 6 lbs since December...but my measurements are down and it made me feel awesome that at least it looks like I'm losing weight.11 -
Need to add a new fastener to a pair of work pants before things get embarrassing. On the heals of a crazy fluctuation and an even crazier appetite, I'm liking it.6
