If I get one more pop-up on my phone for me to win a $1000 gift card that doesn't let me continue without killing the app. I'm going to stop using it!!! Fix the stupid problem!!!

I just got one too. Sad, it's been a great app until now. I've been using it for years. It's hard to believe it's been going on for over a year and you can't stop it

The popups that the original post was referring to only happened on the website and were resolved. These new ones that have spawned in recent weeks seem to only be linked to the app instead. So it's a different mess, though still terrible.

Just got the same hijacking ad on the WEBSITE 5 minutes ago.

Same here, I am interested in how to make these pop up messages stop. They are pop up messages telling me I need tech support for my phone. Phishing scam.

These ads are happening on the mobile platform as well...no option for ad blockers. Will probably be deleting the app if this continues as I don't use this on the PC and the ads are making entries into my website data. This is severely affecting MFP functionality on my iPhone, and not worth the possible compromise. The app is always buggy and slow now since these ads began.

    Hi,
8/29/16 2:40pm. I accessed the MFP app on my iPhone and get a popup:
http://webwin.mobi congratulations customer! Your iPhone has been randomly selected to receive a courtesy $1000 gift card.

You can only click ok. There is no way to get rid of the pop up and now I'm afraid it is hacking my phone. This is the 2nd time this has happened. It happens right when I open the app.

Please advise what I can do to get rid of it. I really love the app and would like to continue to use it, but now I'm afraid to. Thanks for any help you can give.

I've gotten the same http://webwin.mobi pop ups FOUR times within the last 24 hours. The first three times I closed the app, but this morning I accidentally tapped "OK." Nothing happened that I could see, which scares me.

I have reluctantly deleted the MFP app from my phone, and now have to figure out how to make sure my phone and personal information isn't being compromised.

I'd like to know what MFP is doing about this, and also understand what happens if you do inadvertently click "OK" on one of these pop ups.

    Thank you!

Agreed. Not sure why Under Armour allows these ads to invade this app unless they are being paid really well

I am getting this annoying ad that pops up and cannot be declined. When I quit the app and reopen it pops up again. I have deleted MFP from my phone—why on earth does MFP let third parties ruin customer relationships? 70c4s5d3opdp.png

I am also getting these pop ups on my iPhone through the app. Is the only solution to delete MFP??

Unfortunately I'm deleting the app and reverting to my fitbit app.

I am receiving this ad too - I love the app but it's about to go. I can't trust this. I would be willing to pay to not have this

I'm getting the same pop-up ad when I open the diary from my iphone app. Not cool MFP.

Also Joben, I recommend you stop using canned responses on forums. It gets irritating to see the same "while this is not our intention...." over and over and over.

I tried contacting them via email. This is their response. I've already deleted the app. Maybe someone could post a screen shot?

Thank you for writing to us concerning the ads in our program. It is definitely not our intention to place ads within the program that may interfere with the functionality of the program, or ads that are not appropriate. We specifically request our ad partners to refrain from allowing certain types of content within our program. Sadly, unwanted ad types can still sneak in from time to time.

If you are having an issue with a specific advertisement, if you could please take a screen shot of the ad, and reply to this email with the screen shot, the date and time you saw the ad, what device you were using and what part of the program the ad appeared in. We will do our best to have the ad removed from rotation as soon as possible.

In most cases, if an ad does cause an issue within the program, and you are using one of our apps, a simple force close of the app, and then re-launching the app, will help resolve the problem.

If you are having an issue with a video ad within the app, you can also try turning the video function off by going to the More or Menu, then Settings, then Sharing & Privacy, then Ad Settings, then Toggle Video to off to see if that helps.

We also understand some members may prefer to pay to opt out of ads. At this time, though we do not offer a one time opt out fee for ads (something we will consider for a future possibility), we do offer a set of Premium features which include an ad free experience. For more information regarding the benefits of Premium, please see: http://bit.ly/1R7J4Vz

If you have any additional feedback, problems or suggestions please let us know and we will definitely share with the appropriate teams. In the meantime, we thank you for being a loyal MyFitnessPal member. We wish you nothing but success!

    Warmest Regards,

    MyFitnessPal

Just got my first pop-up ad on my phone today. I had to force close the app as merely "normally" closing it and reopening it didn't help.

I just got a pop up on the app with a picture of a topless girl that let me know local girls want to send me nudes. Closed it out before I could screenshot it but if it happens again I definitely will.

I'm sad to see this is still an ongoing issue since May. What is the typical turn around time on fixing a bug like this? I had the pop up ad come up this morning and had to exit the mobile app completely.

I've been getting this too. One I got a few minutes ago was actual porn. I don't look at porn in my cell phone, or any other machine, for that matter, so I don't think it's google ads, or else their tracking software is way off. I've also been getting one that gives a "wheel" it wants me to spin, and won't let me back out or move forward. I have to force-stop the app to get rid of it. I'll have to grab a screenshot next time. I've removed all other unnecessary, yet perfectly useful and reliable apps just in case, but it hasn't helped. It only happens in the MFP app, so far only when I'm trying to access the community.
