Do you believe and does it effect your way of life?

Most cultures have old wives tales and superstitions.. do you know of any, had any experiences yourselves ?

I'm very open minded, a bit skeptical, but i'm still careful.. won't walk under ladders, have to do pumpkins on halloween, just little things.

I've just bought an antique painting everyones flipping out over me having it in my house, legend has it , it is cursed, every previous owner has had a house fire and the painting never burns :$ It wont be in my house long i can tell you lol

Yes I have many. here's the strangest one,My purse can't touch a floor, if it does then it's bad luck. Lol! Your supposed to spit on your hand and wipe the bottom of the purse to "wipe away" the bad luck.

Forgot to add, I wouldn't get rid of the painting though unless you have concrete proof that this exact painting was actually in these people's homes during their misfortune.

I always leave my girlfriend's house by midnight or bad luck could ensue. Her husband works swingshift and gets home at 12:30.

Nope. I've watched many a relative do odd things due to superstition.

I had this weird thing as a kid where I should that crossing your fingers once was good luck, but if you did it more than once while wishing for the same thing, you had to do it an odd number of times, because doing it an even number of times would cancel it out.

I also still go and give blood when I'm having a run of bad luck, I kind of see it as an instant karma refill.

why do you hold your breath though?

You could breathe in the spirit of a dead person...
