Rice

First of all, sorry! I imagine this has been asked before and is probably a pretty silly question.

I don't cook rice very often and I haven't cooked it since I started calorie counting (at least not without using one of those cooks in a bag). I weighed out 75g for everyone and cooked it up and did my best ti evenly distribute it between 5 of us. I ended up with about 150g altogether, does that sound about right? Or does it depend on how much water I had added in the first place etc?

Thinking next time I'll cook mine in a separate pan to be safe haha!

Just weigh your rice portion before your put in your plate. I like to eat rice and that is what I do.
I have been trying to replace it with more quinoa lately, more nutrients and less calories for the same weigh portion

Rice pretty much doubles in weight when cooked, so yes, that sounds about right. It will depend on how much water you added but most rice calls for twice as much water as rice (1 cup rice to 2 cups water) some of which goes into the rice and some of which escapes as steam. If you use less water, your rice would end up weighing less, obviously.

I measure my rice portions dry and after it's cooked just divide it.
