    Successes/struggles this week: A very rough week emotionally, as we had to have our 19 year old cat put to sleep after a short illness :( so I'm glad to have not gained, and to have stayed reasonably on track even though it wasn't high on my list of immediate priorities!

    Successes/struggles this week:
    Week 1: Good week. Still walking about 8+ miles a day plus calorie deficit works well for me. I don't eat my exercise calories either and that helps as well. I would like to see Onederland by the end of next weigh in. Haven't been there in a long time, 20 years or more probably.

    Week 2: Did it! Finally made Onederland this week. Next week will be difficult with an out of town visitor and travel also. Haven't done any traveling in quite some time so I anticipate it may be difficult to stick to my somewhat rigid eating and exercise regime. I will see but will do my best and still have fun.

    Week 3: Not surprised by the weight gain. Traveling and dining out every meal was fun but it had consequences on the weight. Back home and company leaves tomorrow so should be back on track next week.

    Week 4: Back to a normal schedule and routine. Lost that weight from last weeks' gain.
    Things are looking good. It's been an up and down month but should hit my target goal OK.

    Successes/Struggles this week: Continued with my program when things got stressful. My daughter was admitted to a Philadelphia hospital right before the Pope's visit. I finally made it here on Monday. I didn't eat away my problems. This is another stepping stone for me. I'm learning and changing. :)

    Successes/struggles this week: Just plugging along. Weekends are still killing me, if I could just make it thru the weekend without undoing everything I accomplished during the week I would be doing great. Last Friday I was down to 189.6, if I could just keep it there. I will make the 185 goal by the end of October. I ordered me a FitBit Charge HR and it should be in today so I'm hoping that will help me along the way.

    Successes this week: Got my cardio (cycling and running) back on track. Losing 3.2 for the month isn't bad at all. If I keep at it for the next 3 months then I'll lose another 9 lbs by year end, putting me at 114 lbs. I'd like to maintain at 115 and have 120 as my maximum.

    What I've noticed this year, compared to prior weight loss efforts is that I'm no longer willing to eat less than 1700, unless I'm naturally not hungry. Deliberate efforts to cut back below this point have just been unpleasant. So, I've eaten as much as I need to be satisfied and used exercise as my primary source of calorie deficit. In maintenance, I'll be able to eat just as much and cutting back on exercise to just 1 hr/day should be sufficient to maintain the weight.

    Your wasting your time. Loosing weight is about life style changes not short term challenge. I should know I lost 50kg. Yet if you looking for mates I guess it not a bad thing belongs you don't return to old habits after the challenge
    Silliest thing I've heard today.

    Lifestyle changes are a series of short term changes occurring day to day, week to week, month to month. A log like this one MEASURES those changes to see if they're being effective. Losing weight is a project and like any well designed project, you need to set a goal, a timeline, a plan of action, a way to analyze effectiveness and a way to make changes based on results.

    For me, it was easy to see that the weeks when I exercised more, I lost more and when I cut back, my weight loss stalled for the week. Tracking your behavior (diet/exercise) and seeing its impact on your weight loss and what works or doesn't work, should actually HELP you avoid returning to old habits.

    I'm so sorry. :( But you overcame an obstacle, and came out the winner in this round. Not to mention you made your goal! Hang in there; you're absolutely amazing!!

    Successes/struggles this week: Although I am probably not going to meet my 10 lb loss goal for the month, I feel really great about losing 6 lbs. I still have a couple days, maybe a couple lbs will come off. :-) I didn't really have any struggles this week. My big success would be going to Olive Garden and selecting a light fare around 550 calories and loving the meal chosen. I didn't miss having the over 1000 calorie pasta dishes. :-)
