    My Stats:

    SW--starting weight: 143.8
    CW--current weight: 142.8
    TL--total lost: 1.0 lb.

Well, I'm not too happy with only one pound in 3 weeks, but at least it's going in the right direction! Yay! I wrote in my Encouraging Word a bit about a struggle I've dealt with with hopes someone else will be encouraged too! WE CAN SO THIS!

    05 Oct. - 133.5
    12 Oct. - 135
    19 Oct. - 134.3
    26 Oct. - 132.6
    Goal - 125

I can't remember a time in life without cardio involved but recently (since this challenge) I've been adding strength training. The scale numbers have been playing with my mental a bit but I've been thrilled with the definition that's beginning to show.

    Any advice on strength training?
Fairly new to it but am excited.

You should consider a formal program like Stronglifts 5 x 5 if you're brand new to strength training. I also recommend creating a separate post to get helpful answers. There are a lot of former newbies and current fitness buffs on the forums

In my book you deserve to earn a % of the Total Loss you've motivated others to lose in excess of your own progress :p I appreciate your positivity and congratulate your success as well. Thanks again for creating this (:

This is great! I know that when it comes right down to only having a few pounds to lose...it become super slow, so this pace is good! Just listen to your body!

    ENCOURAGING WORD...

    What Is Mindful Eating?
Have you ever finished a meal and had trouble remembering exactly what you ate? Our eating behaviors are created from years of repeated actions. There are small actions we can focus on in order to change these habits.

As we go through our FALL WEIGHT LOSS CHALLENGE, remember the importance of mindful eating. Mindful eating is focusing on an awareness of what's happening--it should be a joyful experience. It is about the EVENT (the eating itself), that you are doing and not a side thing. For example; watching TV-- this is the main event, but when you add nibbling on snacks you've brought about eating to become an automated response that can easily lead to consuming too much!

Make your eating (when you eat) the main event, where you become mindful with everything you are putting in your mouth. Enjoy this event with family and friends where you can enjoy the moment and the food. If you are alone, make it special! Set your place at the table, sit down to lovely music while you dine, and enjoy your healthy food choices while being mindful in the moment.

    Be Mindful with mindful eating!
