Laura - I hope they figure out what's causing the dizziness!
Marla - How did the decorating go? That's awesome you did that for your neighbors!
Sherry - Glad you are finally seeing a light at the end of the tunnel!
Well, I'm discovering it is insanely difficult to get back into a normal routine during the Christmas season. So I'm just going to take it one day at a time and slowly try to get all these big projects done this month since any semblance of normal is disappearing. I still have some congestion, but I'm going to start running again tomorrow. I have a marathon in about 6 weeks and haven't been able to run for three and I need to get back out there. A little freaked about that. But I figure this is my first, so even if I end up walking half of it, it will be a PR for me. Basically, my goal this weekend is to get all the presents wrapped and those that need to be...mailed. And to get Christmas cards made. Hopefully I can get it done!
Hoping to actually get a routine going next week too! *fingers crossed*
Happy Friday everyone!0 -
Hi all. Best thing to remember in December is we don't have to be perfect! I was feeling nervous about having my neighbor over since house isn't totally fixed up yet, then I thought this isn't about how house looks or cookies, its about bonding with my new friend.
Sometimes we just have to stop and think it through. I read a article the other day on when to not do your workout. It was about people not resting enough after illness and I know all of you are in that place now of trying to figure out the sweet spot of feeling good enough a work out won't make me sick again.
I signed up to volunteer with Bernie campaign...i didn't say this to get political, you all can vote for anyone you like! I said it because through this I have already made a bunch of new friends, going on road trip in january with them.
I also joined local hiking group through meetup and meeting them next week for a 5 mile walk around marsh. Too rainy and muddy to hike.
I joined aauw organization for women because they have 3 bookclubs so i dont have to set one up. This group has a lot of teachers in it, lol i barely qualified with my 2 yr degree.
i am doing the decorating this afternoon, just mentioned it last week.
And i havent mentioned it but i have been faithfully cutting down with a goal of losing just one pound a week, and since i started last month have lost 8 lbs...0 -

^Truth!!! All I can say is good luck. To us all.
Laura, I really hope you get straightened out. Feeling wobbly is annoying at least and scary at times.
Marla, that's great about the campaign! I wish you and your new friends great success! ;-) Huge congrats on the 8lbs! It's nice to hear your success...I need the inspiration.
Today was no good for anything. Late everywhere we went, multiple problems from my 5-turning-15-y.o., rain, cold. The worst part of the day was when I realized that my leg pain has gotten so bad that I can't even run to the school when I'm running late any longer. :-( I've got some school parties, more Christmas shopping to do, and a couple of home projects and then I plan to set up a fresh routine, probably next month. I'm going easy on myself until then. But if I Can get these home projects taken care of, I'll be in a good position to do proper healthy meal planning, daily workouts, adequate rest...the whole caboodle.
