An excellent video on this:

The only supplements I've ever tried are whey protein, creatine monohydrate, omega3 and fish oil pills. I've been wondering whether I should expand this, try something else. Given the trusted advice I see here, I won't waste my money. :happy:0

Don't waste your money.
Weigh and log your food accurately, stick to a reasonable caloric deficit, exercise (preferably including some strength training), rest, repeat and be patient.90% of supplements only contribute 1% or less overall fitness or weight loss. So if one lost 10lbs then, one tenth of a pound can be attributed to it.
Supplements that do work based on scientific research: whey protein, creatine, BCAA's and fish oil.
Best advice is maybe listen to the advice on this thread as this guy tends to be like this....

I have never watched doctor oz so I cant comment there but here are the supplements I take:
Gnc 100% whey protein
Gnc creatine monohydrate
Gnc sport multivitamin
Optimum Nutrition serious mass
Musclepharm assault
so far with this combination I have gained about 2 or 3 pounds in 1 month so I would say they are working well.0 -

BCAAs are certainly effective, but there's no science to support the use of BCAAs in those who are already getting more than abundant dosage between foods and whey. The most promising research actually had the participants taking BCAAs in a fasted state if I recall correctly.
