Does it hurt or help your body to keep the same exercise routine?

Exercise shouldn't hurt anything. If you want to progress, then doing the same thing when you've stalled won't help. If you want to continue with the same routine as an addition to lifestyle, your body will accept the addition...Depends on what your goals are.

Unless you exercise routine is inherently harmful (e.g., 20 reps of beating your head against the wall) your exercise routine is not going to hurt your body.

Eh, people's opinons on this differ. There is the "muscle confusion" theory that many say is a myth. Some people love doing the same routine and have had success with it. Personally, I do the same upper body routine every other day. My leg routine has two "versions" that I switch up every other time I'm there (i.e. machine focus on Tuesday and free weight/rack focus on Thursday)...I like to incorporate new things into both routines every so often and have found the working new muscles increases strength, stamina and overall progress.

What do you mean by "same"? Same exact exercise, duration and intensity? No, it won't hurt, but you may get bored and you won't make much progress.

If you mean using the "same" machine, for example the treadmill, and not using other machines that won't necessarily hurt either, but you need to keep improving the intensity of your workout.

On the other hand, isolating yourself to one type of cardio can lead to risk of over use injuries, but I guess I need more info on your part to be sure.
