Not sure of your question. Do you mean how to you know the calories you need to set as your goal, or are you talking about specific foods?0

You plug your info into MFP goal calculator, for now, and then decide how to best consume your daily calorie allotment. You can find out what works best for this depending on your nutritional needs- reading nutrition labels, doing some online homework for calorie conscious recipes, etc can all contribute to your self-education.
Just remember that MFP will be telling you how many calories to keep in mind for the day - that is you eating at a deficit. That is how you will lose weight if you stick to it loyally. Some people forget this and actually aim to eat much less than the MFP cal recommendation and wonder why there's limited long term success. Being hungry sux.
Eat well, educate yourself as best as you can- tons of online resources as well as those listed on these forums.
Good luck!1 -
Any food, as long as you remain in a calorie deficit. That isn't to say eat nothing but pizza, chips, and soda all day every day. Focus on nutrition, but have a treat every now and then.1

Hippo eggs. They are guaranteed to ensure weight loss.
Or just eat whatever you like so long as you weigh and log it, keeping to a calorie deficit.0
