What on Earth is it? I have a friend asking me to do a trial week with her, but I can't get a straight answer on what it entails. Is it a crossfit thing? Bootcamp? Anyone ever done it or even heard of it?

And for the record, I've read the "what is F45?" page and am no more enlightened as to what it actually is. Which makes me wary. that and the creators "proudly declare it to be a cult".

I'd never heard of it before. I Googled it and turned up this article: http://www.dailymail.co.uk/femail/article-3420190/Could-survive-fastest-growing-fitness-craze-try-terrifying-F45-workout-beloved-celebrities-decide-worth-body-pain-afterwards.html

It basically looks like a bastardized Crossfit workout, with all the same type of buzzwords ("functional training", "HIIT", "team training", celebrity endorsements, etc.).

Yeah, I feel like its some super secret club I'll need to sign a confidentiality agreement to step foot in. Even the main website doesn't have any description of the different classes (which have names like "Hollywood", "Spartan" and "Wingman").

I might go along out of curiosity and to be a good friend, but I really don't want to end up on their mailing/calling list, y'know?

I don't blame you, I'm always gunshy of those secretive type things. Goes back to years ago when a friend invited me to a meeting about a "business opportunity" he thought I might be interested in. Wouldn't tell me anything about it and was real vague. I went along to humor him and then found out he was an Amway salesman and was trying to recruit me. He/they pestered me to death about it until I finally flat out told them to get lost.
