Cleveland vs. The World. It's on! B)

Sorry Cubs fans. It's going to be the Tribe on top, in 6 games.

I am cheering for the Cubs on behalf of my friend, Trav. The very last thing Trav did prior to dying in his sleep from a massive heart attack, was to watch his beloved Cubs. He'd be so pleased to see them in the series - last night's game notwithstanding.

    Go Cubs!

Francisco Lindor earned a free taco for everyone in America last night. When has a Cub ever done that?

I haven't watched that much of post season but my limited observation was that the Cubs pitching was a bit suspect. On paper that could favor the Tribe. Hey that's why they play the game. Games are won on the field and not by pencil and paper. Not sure how this will go long term.

I love the excitement of two teams who haven't been successful in years, getting to the big show! I find myself waffling between the team, but i have friends who are huge cubs fan, so I'm leaning towards them. But I really hope they make it interesting and go 7!

Congrats to the Cubs and their fans! Great game last night, and a terrific series. The Cubs / Tribe matchup is the one I said I wanted from about mid-August on, and it certainly didn’t disappoint. I hope we get a rematch.

As a lifelong Cleveland sports fan, I put this Series loss pretty far down on my list of sports disappointments. 1997 was a soul crusher. This one doesn’t feel that way at all, possibly because I directed my hatred at Joe Buck and not at the Cubs. Lol. He is good for something after all!

Oh man. I think often of our old GoaD friend Dennis.Reynolds. He'd be so happy! Last night I was looking for a picture I'd posted to FB years ago and stumbled onto a conversation Dennis and I had about the Tribe and the Cubs. It made me smile. I'll see if I can post the pic here.

ETA: picture attached now. Had to change the format before MFP would accept.1tc7vbx3ujjt.jpg

I'm not a baseball fan -- at least not watching it on TV. At all. But even I had to watch that game last night.

I almost gave it up when it was called for the rain delay. I was already exhausted and it seemed like the game had gone on forever. Glad I decided to wait it out.

I have a very good friend who has been a Cubs fan FOREVER. His dad was an even bigger Cubs fan and every year they hoped for the Cubs to win the World Series (or even MAKE it to the series LOL). Unfortunately, his dad died about six months ago so never got to see them win it :(

My sister lives in Chicago and I lived there from age 6 months to 6 or 7. My DW named her cats kittens after cubs players guys like Ernie banks etc. We watched snippets of the game while doing a restaurant b-day dinner and watched the end. Ah sometimes good to be on west coast time!!

A lifelong Chicago native here. My fitness center was pretty empty today at 7am, normally a very busy time. I'm certain that productivity has taken a nose dive in our parts today. And that business is booming at Starbucks for the poor people who have to work today as well as my students who have classes that go until 9:30pm tonight!

I'm glad to see the drought come to an end even though I'm not much into sports, just the individual things I do (hike, bike, run, etc.).

What a great baseball game. I was rooting for the Cubs, but Cleveland was awesome as well. Congratulations to the Cubs, and all of their loyal fans. Went to game at Wrigley many years ago. So much fun. Great fans. They deserve to finally win the Series. Long day at work on east coast today.

As a lifelong RedSox fan, I congratulate all Cubs fans for finally breaking that 108 year drought. You will find it weird when your kids just start to think of the Cubs as just another team that regularly contends for championships. Victory is a two-edged sword.
