Hi I'm Angel. This is my third time on here trying to lose weight. I always manage to lose like 20 or so pounds then stop. One of my biggest challenges is that I travel with my husband for work. So most of my time is spent in a hotel room unless we are moving jobs. I also LOVE sweet tea. Need some help please!

Hi, Angel. I've been starting and restarting for the past three years, so I feel you! I used to travel with my husband too until his company finally decided to just move us. TripAdvisor is a great site and app for finding things to do and getting out of the hotel room. Most cities have tourist destinations on their website, many even a whole website dedicated to things for visitors to do. Even the smallest town always seems to have some odd museum and a nice place to walk. If renting a car is too expensive look into bike rentals and public transportation. I enjoy riding the bus in a new city because I get to check out the sights as we go by and I really do have all day to get there.

I find the hardest part of travelling is eating healthy. If we are lucky enough to get a room with a microwave and fridge we hit up the grocery store first thing and buy some paper bowls and plastic utensils, soup (the kind that doesn't need an opener), instant oatmeal, salad mix, and fruit. Cooked chicken and boiled eggs for salads if we are lucky. If no mini-kitchen, we will get protein bars, granola bars, fruit cups and fruits that don't need refrigeration to supplement eating out. If eating fast food order a la carte and eat fruit instead of fries. A grilled chicken sandwich is usually not too bad. I'll order off the children's menu to get smaller portions even if I do get funny looks. Ask for an unsweet tea, and bring along your own sweetener packets. Even if you use sugar you can use less than the restaurant would. A teaspoon of sugar is only 15 calories. I just drink unsweet tea, but I'm a weird northener. I frequently order a bowl of soup, salad, or a fruit cup at sit-downs, because If I order the entree I will eat all 1500 calories of it.

My husband paints water towers for a living. 4 of the last 6 towers were in towns that didnt even have a grocery store. Thats what I mean by small. Im trying to find some kind of exercise program to do in the room. Or i guess i could walk in circles at the hotel.

Check out the SkyFit app. You have to subscribe ($9.99 a month), but I think the classes are worth it. Good luck!

I traveled with my husband too for 5 years. First I would say get outside and walk around the hotel or however far you feel safe. Getting outside of the hotel and getting fresh air is a must for your mental health not even thinking about weight loss.

Secondly it seems you know how to lose 20 lbs and even though you temporary quit you are back again so you didn't totally give up. Give yourself some credit!

Start again log your food even when you don't want to and this time just don't stop logging and get right back on track if you fall off. Set some small goals you can reach and visualize yourself at your goal weight and the reactions of others who haven't seen you in your smaller self.

    You can do this.

Erythritol- Norbu Monk fruit sweetener is the closest to sugar for me (I try not to use much as I want my taste buds to adjust to not wanting sweets) , but it will help you to get your tea fix without the stevia bitter taste, I am doing Low Carbs High Fat and I have kicked sugar for two weeks today, the high fat ratio of this diet really controls my hunger and cravings and I don't to cave in to crappy food choices because I never get hungry, or low blood sugars. Its a full on strict way of eating BUT when done well it eliminates all those things that put you off track. I am trying to lose around 60lbs. Best wishes, painting Water towers sounds like HARD work!
