One of the 3 people who actually call me Mel irl. He was a freaking force with a huge personality.😔Those military honors get me every time. Aw thanks ladies. It’s more his family than me that I’m sad for. Don’t mean to make it about me or anything. It feels surreal he’s gone and I feel like even he was far too young.
I didn't p/u that you were making it about you.
When someone in our life leaves & they made an impact, even if it were just the pleasant woman at the coffee shop we've exchanged hellos with, it leaves a vacancy & we notice. It's like if you've ever worked with someone you enjoyed because their energy brought such good vibes & they're out ill or on vacation... the whole workplace feels different.
In a strange way, it's good to miss someone or think about them when they're gone. It shows them we cared (if you believe that they have a soul & a knowing after death) & also reminds us that we have an open heart. It stuns us & we miss them, but we heal & move on. Same as any kind of "death" in life.
I'll stop... I'm starting to sound too rom-com & I don't wanna play the Meg Ryan role... I'd rather be a kick *kitten* Bette Davis from All About Eve. 6 -

That’s beautiful. I appreciate that. I do believe that. I think of people who are gone all the time who impacted my life in one way or another. So I think you’re right. My 2 youngest actually saw him more regularly than i these last few years. My dad would go for walks with them and he lived near me and they would walk over.
