Kate ... I don't think you'll be able to go to the gym ... take a break and heal completely. Others here no more about cataract surgery than I do though...

Hello everyone and thank you for all the nice comments about my daughter in the lavender fields. She went on a trip with a friend to France, Italy and Spain and they organized it all by themselves. I was very impressed. The Internet has made traveling very easy. Her friend took that pic and I can just smell the lavender.

Katia I wrote the rant and don't encourage me too much or we may get a weekly!

I just bought this at the grocery, it is soya noodles, to be used like pasta and is 30 calories for the whole bag which looks to be a little more than a cup. I will let you know how they taste. <3 Sarah

Kelly - there are a couple of reasons why no basements depending on the area. As mentioned by others here... High water table, the clay soil causing ground shifting and cracking basements. In Texas we have a bedrock of Limestone - it's a softer stone - but still would be quite expensive to blast/dig through. And... our frost line here is probably less than a foot deep. So we don't have to dig deeper to bury pipes to prevent freezing and that makes building less expensive.

The flip side of this question... Why do houses up north have basements? Deeper frost lines. Building codes require a house’s footing to be below the frost line, so as long as you’re digging down there you might as well make it a basement -otherwise you have to step down to your first floor.

Some folks here in the south do have basements - but it's rare... and expensive. When I was a kid - I had family members out in west Texas who had storm cellars - outside their homes. But even that's not common now.

Cheri - we're having the same sogginess down in my corner of Texas. I've been doing a scrub down and declutter in our home. When I did our bathroom tile grout - I used Clorox toilet bowl cleanser on the grout. Squirt it in the grout. Lightly agitate. Let set for 10 minutes. Scrub. Rinse. Clean. Easy. Didn't take a lot of scrubbing.

I'll find a photo and attach it.

Kate - take it easy.... I've always heard: Don't do any heavy lifting or strenuous activity for a few weeks.

Lanette - I think you might find something if you search drjessamy.leadpages.co
Or just Google Dr Jessamy Hibberd.
She is popping up all over the place including the online Huffington Post.

A "spiritual" writer I find very helpful is Jack Kornfield, a kind of Western Buddhist, but not too Buddhisty. I have The Wise Heart on my phone to read on the train and it makes me feel very peaceful. :D

    Love the lavender fields!!

I have to have noticed communication and focus is harder for the younger set.

Heather: "I remember vividly the day when I realised I'd changed. "I'm the kind of person who keeps my commitments to myself", I thought and I felt tears come to my eyes. I never thought I could say that about myself.
Amazing what "going on a diet" and doing some exercise can do for you!!!!!! The biggest NSV of all."

I feel this way as well. Thank you for putting it into words.

DH has an appointment with the eye doctor tomorrow to get a prescription for new glasses. He intends to have the prescription filled before we leave the place. I think that may be overly optimistic on his part, but I'm not saying a negative word. Tomorrow will bring whatever it brings and we'll get the glasses when they are ready. He is so excited about being able to see well again. I'm excited, too.

Coming up to the end of March... thinking about goals for April. My thoughts....
    • I'll continue my 8 goals from March.
    • Might give myself a range on fiber 25-30g as it's been hard to get the 30g. I sometimes land at 27-29g and that seems close enough. Really looking at ways to get more fiber from real food.
    • Another goal I'd like to work on - a digital detox - a way to cut back on - or limit my use of my cell phone, iPad, Kindle and laptop. The technology is useful and I won't give it up entirely... but I'm far more engaged in the internet than I should be and I fear other areas of my life are suffering. I've pulled back from my hobbies and that means I've pulled back from time spent engaging DM90 in activites and perhaps not enjoying the things I use to enjoy. So scares me about it being an addiction. Anyway - feels right to get it in check.
    • Do my April Task Bingo. (BTW - not my original idea... this is an idea floating around in the bullet journal community. Folks do it for restaurants to try. Vacation places. And other focus ideas.)

Are you planning any new goals for April?

Cheri - forgot to add the pic of my cleaner grout - using the Clorox toilet bowl cleanser. My grout is a tan or sand color. It had turned chocolate brown. Back to its lighter color now.

Thanks for the tip. The grout here is horrible! I'll give it a try. May have to buy some knee pads or use my garden knee pads cause it's going to take a bit of time!

Hi all: I am ready for the rain to end even if the sun does not come out. DD and I worked on our backyard pasture last weekend and got all of our posts up and about 2/3 of the tape. We thought we had all of the parts but discovered that we did not have gate handles. Kind of need those with electric fence. There is a mouse coming into our master bath cupboard. We thought we had her blocked out but she is back. Tore up a huge piece of paper toweling I am sure for her nest. We have tried poisoning pellets but those don't seem to have worked. I think we have an entire community coming in from outside. Our barn cat has killed several in the barn and adjacent buildings. Went to yoga this morning but I was really cold. Hard to relax and breathe.

    Cheri - Nice afghans!

Charlotte - That letter from your son is awesome.

Lisa - Congrats on blood tests.

Everyone take care, Sue in WA
