WOMEN AGES 50+ FOR MARCH 2017

I had a nasty round of acid reflux last night and wound up sleeping in the recliner downs stairs, until DH came down and turned on a bunch of lights. He didn't realize I was there. I haven't had acid reflux in ages. I looked back over yesterday's eating and the meal at he fish house is my candidate for causing it. Everything else was normal for me. I'm not going to order a salmon burger there again. :noway:3

Sue How IS that feisty Arabian these days? Still picking up his water and dumping it? My horse hero. I really love horses. Haven't ridden for a million years, used to ride Western as a girl. My last horse was named Buddy Knapp. The color listed on his papers was "brown". Not sorrel or bay or chestnut. Brown. Which I think is a dark bay, but I am no expert. I loved my Buddy. I live vicariously through you and Katla and others who have and ride horses.
Lisa Awesome the way things are going for you! Hope the warehouse sells and you get the new job and your husband heals soon.
Kelly Great Google question! Maybe your husband will find his sense of humor and ease up a bit. Crabby spouses are energy consuming. My partner is still having shoulder pain after her last surgery and I swear it's wearing me down almost as much as it is her. Thank goodness we have an appointment with her surgeon today. Maybe he will order an MRI to see what the problem is. She did not have this kind of pain after the other shoulder was repaired so I think something is wrong. She did catch herself from falling, tweaking the shoulder, shortly after surgery, so I am wondering if it damaged the surgery site.
Olivia is up to 8 lbs now. Her birth weight was 7lbs 9oz. She is 7 1/2 weeks old now and thriving. Time will tell if she has any long term problems, but everything is hunky-dory right now:

Karen in VA: I agree with Mary. I love the photos of Olivia and am happy for the whole family that she is doing so well.
I saw a river otter again this morning. It seems to be hanging out near our neighbor's house. I wonder whether it is staying under their deck. I love otters but hope it doesn't move under our deck. The raccoons were more than enough wildlife within our foundation and we still have the repair work on the calendar ahead of us.

Karen: Olivia is beautiful!
Lisa: Will send positive thoughts for the job!
Sarah: Congratulations on meeting your March weight loss goal!
I had a girl's night out with three of my friends last night. I was able to check the menu ahead of time and pick some things that were MFP friendly. I even ordered dessert; I ate half and then gave the rest to my friends, so I managed to stay within my calorie objective.
My hairdresser asked me today if I had lost weight. She is one of the first to notice. It was a really great NSV moment.

Did some memoir this pm.
Well my Vitamin F friends, I had a brainstorm this afternoon!!!!! Some of you may remember I was moaning away earlier this week about DH being at cricket for the whole four days of the Easter holiday, plus four days over the following weekend. Yikes! I have arranged with my Portsmouth friend to go and see her for one day at Easter (trains permitting) and I may be going to London to sit with my chemo friend the following Friday, if they schedule her chemo that day.
But I've been playing with the idea of taking myself off for a French fix. I won't go to Lyon, because DH wants to go there with me, but there are lots of other places I can fly to from Southampton airport.
My yoga friend recently jaunted off to La Rochelle, on the west coat of France for a few nights and posted some gorgeous photos on FB. So I had a look at fares and it was not expensive. I then dropped it on DH who was a bit nonplussed, but he couldn't say much! He is deserting me after all! So, my friends, I booked it! And then I booked a hotel. Just for Sunday and Monday nights.
Phew!
The only problem with France on a Sunday and Monday night is that most of the best restaurants are shut. :grumble: but I did find a seafood bar that looks good.
I'm getting excited now. Haven't been away all by myself for many years, but it'll be an adventure and who can resist a fishing port with marina and castle towers? !?!
The airport is near the town so that's easy.
Opened a bottle of wine to celebrate . Not French alas!

Heather, thank you, you know I treasure your travel pictures. At this point I'm quite sure I'll never make it to Europe.
My oldest daughter is going to Greece in May.

Whew, caught up at last. The 6 hours in the yard picking up sticks and 5 hours playing golf just wore me out. But I have things to do and places to go.
Lisa- sending good thoughts for Corey to heal and be able to stay busy for 8 more weeks. Also good thoughts for your job and the warehouse.
Karen - Olivia is beautiful. My DDIL is an ortho. Surgeon and she says the shoulder surgery is the most psi ful of all.
I agree with all the comments about our little community of friends on this thread. I'm not sure how I will b e able to read or post on my trip, Which starts Monday but I will carry you all day in my heart as we travel in SE Asia.
