Well last week I predicted flat weight loss this week and sure enough it did. I managed to eek out a small loss for the week but for most of the week I was up 2 pounds. It only corrected in the last 2 days. I'm not worried, I think its just a cyclical thing. I am going to tweak things a bit, rather than fast one day per week I'm going to fast 2 consecutive days every other week.
I had set an August goal of doing a 2.5 hour run and did it this morning actually timed out at 2 hrs 40 min. It wasn't that bad but glad that it's over.

Not as of this time. Next year I'll venture out and do some 5-10k type races and then we'll see where it goes. Mainly for the social fun and the challenge of making a PR. If I feel good and the knees are holding up I suppose it's possible that I would set my sights on another marathon, but I'd say not before next fall. Would need to log many more miles to get to that point.

A loss is a loss and you are still trending down!! 2 hours 40 running amazes me! I think the longest I've ever run was about an hour and I was about 35 and super fit. Congratulations!!

Fantastic, Jim! A bunch of us seem to be in the tweaking phase at this time. So wonderful to go through this altogether with such an awesome group of people to help along the way by encouraging and supporting. :)

You are doing OMAD (losing weight stage) for more than 1 year with awesome results. Congrats !

I have one question for you: during this period, do you feel that the body need a pause from losing ? Or, do you feel that you lose too much into a very short time ?

Along the way there have been some pauses / plateaus. I can only guess that the body has to adapt along the way, sometimes letting go of the fat, other times holding on. I don't see it as having lost too much too fast.
At this point also I do not have so much left to lose, perhaps 15 pounds. It seems that based on the experience of others the final weight comes off slower.

Until this point I have broken through these pauses by doing extended fasting. In the next month or two I may do one more extended fast, perhaps 7-10 days, in order to reach my final goal weight range.
But also this is not for sure. At this point I am much more patient, if it takes 1 month or 5 months I'm not so concerned because I'm already over 90% of the way to the finish. Most of the hard work is done.

I wasn't expecting much this week but have to say I'm pleased at the loss.
I didn't fast this week, and was out of town for a couple days and missed two runs.
I also ate out a few times and slightly indulged myself.
So while I wasn't expecting to lose, midweek I started noticing the unmistakable sign that I was losing weight,
frequent urination over several days. I have no doubt of the correlation now as it has happened to me over and over.

Another sign of progress is that I've had to lengthen my Sunday run again in order to keep it at 2 hours. When I started a few months ago I don't think I was even doing 8 miles in 2 hours, now I'm pushing 10 miles, meaning that my pace is picking up.

Its now been a full year since I started on this journey. 172 pounds later and I'm so thankful for this new lifestyle I have. I'm also thankful to everyone here that sends encouragement. I meant what I said above that in some way I am inspired by everyone who posts their stories here.

Technically today I weighed in just below my goal of 180 lbs. I'll give it a few more weeks before I say that I've hit that goal however. I'd like to at least come to the point where the majority of daily weigh ins over the span of a week are under that mark, not just one day. I'm doing a 72 hour fast this coming week. That normally brings a 2-3 pound loss so we'll see.

My updated weight loss graph for those who like data. You can see I had a whoosh in early August and then a bit of a slowdown since then.

Wow phenomenal! I'm so excited to see this can be done. May I ask if you eat from all food groups during you OMAD? Have the fasts aided in your mental determination? Like Brenda, Arguablysam ...you guys have a really great handle staying steady and continuing forward. Thanks for all the insight B)

I eat vegetables, dairy, meat, and fruit almost exclusively. Almost never have any grains or foods with added sugar of any kind. I try to focus on foods with low caloric/high nutrient density.

Great, thank you.... the way we were meant to eat. I'm still in the OMAD honeymoon phase but my mind knows what it should be doing. Thanks again & hope you have a great day.
