When I reached my goal weight why does myfitnesspal change my calories according to my weight when losing. Should I stay with the calories that I have been successful or adjust with what myfitnesspal has given me. I started with 2770 calories which have been working for me. When I adjusted my goal weight to 264lbs myfitnesspal changed my calories to 2990,then I adjusted back to 2770 calories. Why does myfitnesspal adjust when losing weight.

As you lose weight, your body burns fewer calories! So yes, you should be eating fewer calories when you're smaller--a very common cause for people's weight loss stalling out is that they don't reduce their intake along the way.

I make sure to update my calorie goal every time I hit a new low weight. A change of ten calories at a time is much easy to keep up with than a much bigger reduction all at once.

What do you have for your desired weight loss per week? Something is off if MFP gives you 2990 calories at 264 lb, unless you set it to maintain or are pretty active. And MFP should decrease the calories as you lose, so something is off.

    What are your stats
    Sex
    Height
    Weight
    Age
    Goal weight
    desired loss per week
    activity level

Why would you set your goal weight to 264 lbs? It appears that you are trying to gain weight instead of lose weight, but unless you are a really tall dude, 264lbs is likely to be much higher than you need to be.

Every 10pds MFP recalculates your calories for weight loss (or gain) to account for the calories your body will be burning at that weight with the NEAT calculation.
What worked at a particular weight may not work as well the smaller or larger you get.
