    There are a number of ways. Pick only one of:
    1. Figuring out MFP's suggestion for calories, then manually adding breastfeeding calories to your total amount. As you lose weight you will have to manually adjust this.
    2. Create an exercise for breastfeeding that includes the appropriate number of calories burned via breastfeeding, add it to your diary every day, and eat those calories. As you lose weight, MFP calculates that the calories you burn with this will drop. Keep this in mind.
    3. Set your MFP goal to maintenance, don't log anything extra, but know that breastfeeding will create a deficit for you.

    I personally strongly prefer option 3. It was the easiest for setting it up and takes the least amount of effort. It does require a lot of trust in both your baby and yourself that it will work but it does work!

    How did you add the extra breastfeeding calories in on the diary?

    In the same search bar where you search for food to add to your tracking diary, you can search "breastfeeding." There are multiple negative value entries that you can select that add calories to your day.
