Use a self tanning lotion for a little color. Keep doing the same rate of weight loss you're already doing, none of the strangers on the beach will say, "Gee, it's too bad she isn't 2 pounds lighter". Enjoy your vacation!1

If that's what she consciously changed and that's what happened, than that's the primary mechanism in her case. Whether or not this will work for others is a different question.
