Good morning BBB Friends.
- What's going on here? I'm not supposed to be the early bird. I'll blame it on the dog.
- Steve, we are ready for a trip report.
- Saw the Oconee Performing Arts Society Childrens Youth Chorus perform a Patriotic Salute last night. Awesome.
- I took a knee and didn't watch any football yesterday. Of course the Falcons apparently played well.
- People were amazed I fit in my uniform. I could have been a WW commercial.
- I'm with Lou.

Good Morning!
Connie and I had a wonderful vacation! When we got to the airport on Monday, I left my cell phone in the car by mistake. I decided to make it an unplugged week. It was awesome! We spent two days at the Grand Canyon. The temps were cool, but not cold, except early in the morning. Tuesday morning, it was 18, and we had ice on the windshield. By noon, however, it was in the 50s, and we had a great day. We then spent two days in Sedona. We were at a resort, and it was very relaxing. We didn't do much, but just a little shopping, and otherwise hang out at the resort. We actually went swimming, outside, on Thursday. It was in the lower 70s. Friday, we made a slow trek back to Phoenix, with several stops along the way. We had the best vacation. This was our first real vacation in 8 years. We are going to travel more often now, for sure.
We returned home at 12:30 a.m. on Saturday. We went to bed at 1:30 a.m. At 2:15 a.m., the phone rang, and Connie's mom had called the ambulance, and was having a heart attack. We got up after travel all day, and being in bed for 45 minutes. We followed the ambulance to the hospital, and stayed for several hours. Connie's mom didn't have a heart attack, but she is having very severe heart issues. Her output is down to 25%. They will do a stress test today, and probably a cath (stint). Prayers, please!
To top it all off, I think that I'm coming down with a cold. The events of the weekend cannot erase the fact that Connie and I had an awesome week away from it all. I feel like a new person! I intend to not get all stressed at work, and just do the catch-up as it happens, but not stress over it.
I'll catch up with the rest of you in the coming days. I am, however, going to work much harder on mindfulness, and staying away from the electronics a little more.
Have a great day! -- Steve0 -
I'm praying for your DMIL, Steve, right now. I'm so glad you were home in time to be there for her! I hope you've caught up on that sleep now, though. Personally, if I ever feel like I'm coming down with any colds, as long as I increase my sleep time a bit it tends to go away. I haven't been sick in a decade, with the exception of a 3 hour flu a couple years ago.
Dennis, I think you SHOULD be in a commercial! YES! You make us PROUD!
Music went well last night, and now I'm prepping for my message next week. It's titled: "My Ego: the Rise and Fall of an Empire". HA! It's about how, contrary to popular belief, those who constantly self-deprecate and/or are perfectionists have as great an ego problem as those who seem to think too highly of themselves. And then the cure, of course.0 -
Good morning BBB.
Praying for your DMIL, Steve.
Spoke to my sister about the vessels I am turning for her art project. She mentions another client of hers has a big pile of bowl blanks they would like turned for presentation pieces, and says she could set it up if I'd like the work. I told her I have no desire for anything like that. I am retired, and like it that way. No third career for me.

Good Morning BBB.
Praying for your DMIL Steve - so glad you had time away with Connie.
Praying for those still struggling after the hurricanes.
I just heard on the TV that it’s World Kindness Day - I think we practice that in this group every day - you all are awesome and an inspiration.
Lisa - love the title of next week's message.
Dennis - send your story to WW - you never know what they will use in their marketing.
Do good out there everyone.0 -
Morning Gang~
Steve/Connie - glad you had a enjoyable trek! Well-deserved. I unite my faith with others for DMIL!
The "woo'ing" by new (potential) employer yesterday was nice. 2nd row seats on the field. Tailgating was A++; sedan service to and from my house. Yup - these people know how to do it up - first class for sure! Lots of decisions to make QUICKLY!
Too many moving parts but strapped in for the long ride....
Cheers,

Good Morning,
Steve, hope DMIL does great today.
Dennis, send write-up and pictures to WW's they are always looking for stories. Now if Dave would send his story in at same time we could have a military issue. There is no way I'll fit back into uniforms, I had a 26" waist and only weighed 125 lbs when I got out; also I do not want to be that small again, back then it was hard to gain weight. Shame it is not easy to balance out.
Went to DGS's birthday Saturday, DD and DSIL need to put halt to toys or they are going to have to get a larger home.
When considering a job one must look at benefits and retirement as well as salary, also how many hours are they expecting per week. The older I get the more precious my time is.
Enjoy the Day,

I found out from niece that MIL is in hospital then to rehab. Surprised SIL didn’t call but she is kinda a martyr and knows we think she should be in a nursing home.
