I gained it all back....
being obsessed with food put weight on me.... I could not stop! Procrastination.... until I put each pound back.

Now- I am counting every morsel... Still obsessed.

So confusing!

Food is good and to be enjoyed. But you have to stop when you have had enough. Feeling that you aren't allowed to eat enough or shouldn't feel pleasure from eating, can make you obsessed with food. But eating too much (more calories than your body burns) made you gain weight. Awareness of food intake is not obsession, at least not in an unhealthy way, when you aim to feed yourself enough, but not too much.

I think this says it nicely. You have to perhaps change the way you think about eating - you can still enjoy food, any kind of food, but enjoy it in moderation. Just because you don't finish that slice of cake (or bowl of mac and cheese, or whatever) doesn't mean you didn't enjoy it, you just enjoyed less of it. FWIW, I do have to take occasional short breaks from detailed tracking, as I find myself becoming obsessed and letting it have negative effects on my social life with friends and family. When I take those breaks, I am still mindful of what and how much I am eating, but I'm not obsessed with how many calories are in the food.
