    Seems kind of pointless to supplement with taurine (not essential for adult humans - note many BS studies will fail to realize some animals showing benefit because taurine is essential for said animal(s)). Even if they do compete, this is simply a spacing/timing issue (similar issue with levodopa and aromatic amino acids competing for absorption - saturation possible/limited uptake of absorption for levodopa ameliorated by just separating protein sources by a few hours/staggering dosing).

    Again, there is no way of knowing when your body would be producing taurine from say cysteine just direct intake from food/protein sources

    Someone on MFP suggested magnesium for persistent muscle cramps in right thigh. Tried a tablet a day for a week - miracle! The cramps were gone. Stopped them and after 3 days the cramps were back. Why? How? Who? What? Who can say... It helps me, taking them for nearly a month now.

    I am thinking you are following keto or a low sodium diet? And its caused by an electrolyte imbalance. Its fairly common since magnesium is an electrolyte.

    After 30 years besides my BCAA’s I gave up on supplements some work but the results are temporary. Less is best.

    I was just researching as I was potentially going to experiment with some supplements in the coming months and came across this... Apparently baking soda functions very similarly to Beta-Alanine, but without the tingles. There are a surprising amount of studies demonstrating marked increase in ability. There is a potential for discomfort, but, I mean, come on.

    I'm looking for feedback on pre-work powder/drink. I am looking for something that will not cause me to drop dead or grow a 3rd eye. I am healthy with minimal health issues. There are so many to choose from. I'm looking for something to give me some "umph" when I'm working out or running.

    Why do you think you need a supplement/pre-workout to give you oomph? Is you diet and sleep hygiene good? If not, fix those before looking at supplements
