Did 5 minutes of the hula hoop, held my plank for 3 minutes, then took the extremepump class. The plan for tomorrow is to do a Kathy Smith Power Step DVD.
I knew that I had a small alarm clock so I searched around the room and finally found it.
When we brough Shadow here Jess got upset because I had the door to her room open. Well, we had just gotten home and were in and out of the room getting Shadow settled. So I closed the door but I’ve been keeping it open. I’m just not telling Jess. Anyway, I just now had it open and Shadow walked out. So I tried following her and finally found her between our sofa and loveseat. She’s taken to going out again. I’m just letting her do it on her own time. She can (and is) coming back to the bedroom.
Kymari – congrats on the win!!!
Re – I’m so very sorry for your loss. You are in my thoughts and prayers.
KJ – I always keep my shopping list on my phone so I always have it with me should I decide to pop into a store. As I’m getting low on something, I put it on the list. I decide what we’re going to have for dinner around the middle of the previous week and then go over the recipes and put on the list things that I don’t already have. (like maybe the meats)
Maureli – welcome! I’m the same way as you, exercise isn’t a problem, but eating in the evening can be. I’m sure we can swap strategies.
Carol – you SHOULD be proud of your granddaughter. I am.
Janetr – another spectacular ornament. How DO you do it? I’m envious. BTW – I miss Joyce. I still remember one time on Thanksgiving we had Wild Turkeys walking thru our backyard!
Exercised, went to the Salvation Army (didn’t get anything), stopped at Habitat for Humanity and found two more sturdy chairs for out by the pool then went to Aldi. Bowling next, ceramics tonight. Picked up the first flamingo, now Vince has to work on the legs.
Rdonnini – we’re ready whenever you are. Join anytime (even now)
Heather – octopus is one of the things I’ve never had.

Janetr I'm sick about Rocky. I love llamas and this is just painful news.1

Purging, I had to "purge" pretty unexpectedly and quickly. Jack and I decided to move in together. He owned his home and I was renting mine. My rental was much larger than Jack's house and it was full as was his house. I had my grandma's old Singer tredle sewing machine in a beautifully carved cabinet, an old china buffet from Virginia (ex MIL family) dating to the 1700s, an antique dresser in my bedroom. I had my entire home decorated in antiques and country decor, Jacks home was pretty much leather masculine. I had my daughters come and divided up China, silver, old handmade quilts and anything else they wanted. My grandkids also picked some things they wanted. The rest went to a young man that had just got divorced and moved into his own place and literally had nothing.
Jack was still flying then and was gone 7-10 days at time. I must admit there were many tears shed in those first few months while I was home alone. Now its a treat to visit my daughters homes in TX and CO and see some of my beloved items displayed in their homes. I did keep a very few small things, several that my Mom had given to me and was so glad I did as she passed two months after my move. I'm glad now that my precious things are already with my girls or grandkids and it won't be a problem when I'm gone.
A couple years later we sold the small house and bought a larger home and I was able to get out some of the things I had boxed up and now we have "our" home.

I'm sorry I made you sad with my story. What upset me the most was that I said several times I was worried one of them would get hurt. The men kept guffawing me and saying that wasn't going to happen. I was too upset to even say "I told you so".

Checking in at end of July - My goal was to lose five pounds, I lost three pounds. I'll take it.
Since January 24, I've now lost 32 pounds, 4 inches around my waist, 5 inches around the lower stomach area (a sore point with me), 4 inches around my hips, and 3 inches around each thigh. I measure everything. It keeps me going at times with the weight stalls.
My goal for August is to lose four pounds, even with all the traveling.
Love y'all,

Good Wednesday!
Just have a moment.
Janetr So sorry to hear about llama. We once had those. Those were cool. My DFIL had lots of animals at the farm in Kentucky. There were white tails, reindeer, elks, and fallow deer. There were llamas, cows, and horses. We also had whitetail in our backyard. A few years after he died, my MIL hooked up with a guy who wanted the land for more cows. They sold ALL of the animals except the cows! It was heart wrenching. Now the cows are gone too.....I have no idea what they are going to do with the farm now. My DH and I spent many weekends there taking care of things and enjoying the trails. Since the new man (okay not so new now) took over I haven't even been back down. It is too sad and makes me mad. Better to just let that one go.
I know there was more but........work seems to be calling my name.
Please keep the pictures coming. I love all the children both human and furry! The gardens make me jealous. Mine are such a mess. I really need to get on those. I think I need a staycation! Hard to take too many days off though since our vacation is in September followed by a dealer meeting in Florida 3 days after we get back from vacation.
(((HUGS))) to all of you! Both happy hugs and supportive hugs!
You are all INSPIRATIONAL to me!

Morning all! Happy Tuesday! Day 2 of our Coast Guard Festival Adventure! Yesterday was just a quick trip downtown (2 hours, total) to see the ships come in. Today we will head downtown right after breakfast and be there until nap time. Oddly, the thing I am most worried about are the lines for the bathrooms and having three recently potty trained boys with me! We are headed to Mulligan's Hollow, which is near our Y and is a field where sports are played surrounded by dunes, playground, and skatepark. The city has tents set up with crafts, face painting, games, bounce houses, clowns, photo booths, food, etc. There will be kids/families everywhere, the municipalities will have their "trucks" parked for the kids to climb in and investigate, a petting zoo, etc. It will be a full and busy morning.
Janet- Love the ornament!
Wendy- lol I am wondering how much of the piano "lingo" has stayed in my head over the past 35 years of not playing. I haven't started to monkey Clair on the piano yet. I have been doing some fingering on the table or bedspread as I listen to it, though. Yes, I would say the majority of the first portion of the song is all played with the right hand. The left comes in stronger after a bit.
kisses to all of you, but that is all I have time for this morning. I need to get out and water my very neglected hanging baskets. I feel like a "bad mom" when I look at them literally hanging all dried up in their pots. Welcome to my "house of death for green things!" xoxoxo KJ4 -

Kelly I was outside on the deck when I uploaded the picture of the hibiscus & hadn't read your "house of death for green things" comment yet. Not trying to be snarky by posting it. (You have a green thumb with children, anyway!)
Janetr I think I forgot to mention how lovely the last ornament was. It's my favorite so far...and don't worry about making me sad about the llama. I've moved on to being mad at the men for pooh-poohing you for your concerns about the boy llamas getting hurt fighting. At least it gives you some ammunition for the next time your Spidey Sense tells you something is dangerous.
Meg You have a good sense of humor. It's starting to peek through, so I'm thinking you are recovering a bit from the emotional trauma you've experienced the last year or two.
Rebecca Do the doctors think your husband's vertigo is an inner ear virus?
Cathy and Carol Photos of the granddaughters are precious.
Katla Yep. No need to rush things with the piano & clock. Like the boat, you aren't ready to part with them, there is no pressing need to, and you'll figure it out when the time comes. I have a LOT of stuff. I need to "let it go", but much of it has intrinsic or sentimental value - or at least that's been my mindset until the last few days. Now I am beginning to experience a paradigm shift in my thinking. There is actually very little in this house that is so valuable that I can't let it go. I am beginning to look at the things in this house as albatrosses around my neck. How's that for a visual? LOL!!!
Thinking of those of you with burdens & pain. Sending much love.

My husband and I have both gone through 2 purges.
Mine: in 2004 I decided to toss, give away, and pack everything up, move 2 provinces over, put what remaining items I had into storage for several years during which time I spent 3 months cycling around Australia, and then acquiring a degree in Canada.
Mine: in 2009, I moved to Australia and could only take 300 cubic feet of stuff. Another purge from my already greatly reduced quantity of goods. I dug everything out of storage, held it, took photos of it ... and gave a whole bunch of it away.
My husband: in 2005, he did a purge like my first one, put everything into storage, and hit the road through Victoria, Australia following the Harvest Trail.
My husband: in 2009, he had settled in a part of Victoria, Australia working on an apple orchard when the Victorian Bushfires hit. So many people died, so many houses destroyed. Including his. But he escaped through the flames with his life and a handful of stuff.
Since then, we've accumulated things. NO desire to purge.
