When to change calorie goals?

It's been nearly 3 months since I started my journey, though I've gotten more serious about it in the last few weeks. Since I started, I've been doing 30 minutes of exercise a day (Insanity Max: 30) and then generally the rest of my day is sedentary. The last week or so I've been trying to get my 10,000 steps a day in as well, but am otherwise sedentary. I've lost 8kg so far as well, so am not sure if I should be changing my calories as I lose weight.

So, I'm wondering if my activity level has increased enough to need a change in my calorie goals. I still feel pretty comfortable eating the same amount of food (I eat a little extra on the days I burn more). Or should I always keep it at sedentary if overall I'm just sitting at the computer for most of the day?

Your activity level doesn't include exercise so keep it at sedentary, but do go and update your numbers. You've lost a bit so your body doesn't need as many calories, thus you'll need a lower calorie goal to keep your deficit consistent.

I've heard you should change your calorie goals every 10 pounds.
Is your 10,000 steps including or excluding your exercise which should be logged separately?
If these steps are additional to exercise then you should increase your activity level by at least 1. Do that and if after a month your rate of loss is about the same as your goal then you have reached the right activity level. If if is too high or low adjust the numbers as needed. I said 1 month with the assumption you are female and this period of time gives the best insight into weight loss as it takes your normal hormone cycle and fluctuations into consideration.
