Nah. Not a competition at all. I love vegetarian and vegan foods. I didn't eat meat for about 30 years myself. If I were to make a distinction it would be sweet versus savory. In fact, I usually look for the less-meaty pictures of some of the foods I'm craving to be sensitive to folks who might be put off by meatiness. You should have seen the biscuits I didn't post.
I have no way to know whether or not some of the things you post are vegan. They often are but look like they aren't. I bet I would love them. Savory and spicy. Mmmm.
Nah, I'm just trying to "eat" surreptitiously without actually eating because I'm afraid I've been doing some stress eating lately. If I can look at a tasty waffle and not eat it, that's great. Same with biscuits and mushroom gravy. Same with a big bowl of pasta with a yeast and mushroom sauce. And if there's some bacon, it won't scare me away. I just don't want the sticky cinnamon bun or the cake.
Now maybe, just maybe, if the time is right, I can dig in to some halva or some baklava, but most of the time I'd rather have spanikopita versus baklava. And baklava has honey so not really vegan.
I’m on your side all the way. Give me the meat and potatoes. I love the dolmas, hummus, all the veggies. But you can have the cake and ice cream, the pie, most things sweet. I’ll share the cookies with you, unless they are chocolate, then you can have them all.
