Goal: As a furloughed employee I didn't really how much of a challenge it would be for me to get my water in without the daily structure of work, so my goal for this round is to figure out a method that will work for me to get my water in while I am off work.
Day/Weight/Comment
01/23--214.9 I am going to try a new plan to get my water in...I have a pitcher that I am going to fill with water and I'll place it on the table so that I can see the pitcher throughout the day. Hopefully, this will remind me to drink my water. Today is run day, hopefully the rain lets up soon. Yoga tonight.
01/24--214.9 The water pitcher idea from yesterday worked!Even though I increased my water intake yesterday, I also did a lot of mindless snacking yesterday, so I need to work on that today. Finished w2d2 of c25k yesterday; however, I woke up this morning with some pain around the knee, so I don't know if I will be going to the gym today. I think I will do some stretching/foam rolling and if the knee feels better I will go to the gym later this evening, if no change then I will just skip the gym today.
01/25--214.9 Third day in a row for this weight. Finished w2d3 today, so far so good.
01/26--214.0 There's the drop, let's see if it will hold. Going out for long walk with my dog group.
01/27--214.2 Did over 6 miles of walking with my dog group yesterday, my legs were so sore this morning that I did not want to go to the gym, but I forced myself to go and while it wasn't pretty, I did my weightlifting. Relaxing for the rest of the day to get myself ready for a return to work tomorrow.
01/28--214.5 Back at work today. Didn't want to, but when I got home did W3D1, it felt great. Did some stretching and foam rolling when I got home. Tomorrow is weightlifting, sadly now that the furlough is over I will be up at 4:45 am in order to get to the gym before work. Ugh
01/29--214.5 My watch alarm did not go off this morning so I missed my morning weightlifting. What's ironic is that I was upset when I didn't wake up at 4:45 this morning even though last night I was dreading getting up that early. Now I have to figure out whether I go to the gym later tonight or try again tomorrow morning, I'm leaning towards going tonight but I will have to go late enough that I miss most of the evening crowd.
01/30--214.0 Even though I missed my early morning workout yesterday I ended up going to the gym later yesterday evening. Of course there was a part of me that didn't want to go after being all warm and cozy at home, but then at 7:30 I just told myself that I have to go, so I got up off the couch and went. I had a great workout and there was hardly anyone there at that time, even less then at 4:45 in the morning, so I think for now, especially at this time of year when it's so much harder for me to get out of bed that early, I'm going to start going to the gym in the evening. Tonight is w3d2 of c25k and then yoga.
01/31--214.5 When I got home from work yesterday I didn't want to go running outside and convinced myself that I could skip the run and make up for the run later on in the week. So later in the evening when my husband and I were on our way to yoga I actually started to feel guilty that I hadn't gone out for a run, but at this point it was dark outside and I don't like to run outdoors in the dark. So I told my husband that after yoga I was going to go to the gym and run on the treadmill, btw I hate the treadmill. When I told my husband my plans he looked at me and smiled and said he was proud of me. So, after yoga I drove to the gym and finished my w3d2 run and it actually wasn't that bad. I gotta say I'm pretty proud of myself
02/01--214.7 Relaxed yesterday evening. Even though it was a gym night I was really tired, so decided to take a rest day. Today is w3d3. Tomorrow off to the nutritionist.

Last round I finally reached that elusive 140's decade that had been haunting/teasing me for the last couple of rounds. I hope to see a new low of 147/146 this round and continue to drop my 10 day average. I do have a 3 day family ski trip this weekend, so I am going to try and work around that and focus on my goals. I do not ski (not coordinated enough for that) but everybody else does. So I do a lot of reading, people watching, shopping, and drinking in the lodge. This round ends on a Friday, which is usually one of my lowest days of the week. So I am excited to see how this round goes.
Last 5 rounds:

Day/Weight/Comment
01/23 -148.8 Back to normal after my weekend blip. Doing good today and have my lunch and water mapped out. DH and I have dinner plans with all 5 of our kids tonight. It is really hard to get everybody together anymore now that they are so busy with there own lives. We are going to Red Lobster so should be easy to stay in calories as long as I stay away from the rolls. 2 more days and we will be on vacation.
01/24 - 149.4 Up just a bit probably from dinner last night. I cheated and ate 1 of the roll (worth it), other than that did great. Work half day today, then my son has an orthodontist appt and my daughter has a cleaning at the dentist. Tonight packing and getting ready for out trip. Will weigh tomorrow, but the hubby said the scale is not coming with us, lol. So no weigh in after that until Monday. Hopefully it's not going to be to terrible.
01/25 - 149.4 didn't do great last night. Had a left over roll from Red Lobster and 2 beers. Lol, DH and I started our vacation a bit early. The rest of the day was good and I had a low calorie dinner. Leaving in about an hour and will try and update, but won't have weights. Hope everybody has a great weekend and hope my weight isn't to terrible on Monday.
01/26 - VACATION - no scale
01/27 - VACATION - no scale
01/28 - 153.4 totally expected. No where near enough water this weekend and extremely tired. Our weekend vaca was so busy and over so quick. Had fun though and glad we got to spend time with the family. Drove home last night and I could tell I was dehydrated. Although I did sleep great for the first time since Thursday. This bump will be gone by tomorrow. Water, clean food, and sleep tonight are my goals. Looking to finish this month and 10 day challenge off right this week. Looking for my 147.xxx to pop up on the scale!
01/29 - 150.8 did well yesterday, so I expected a pretty good water weight loss. Tomorrow I should be back down to normal weight. No alcohol at all this week until the Super Bowl is my goal. Would love to loose 1 more pound by the end of this round. I have 2 weeks before we leave for Vegas, so my goal is to be 145 when I get on that plane. We will see if it happens.
01/30 - 148.5 nice! I'm back down with an extra couple of ounces. Did really well yesterday, no alcohol, tons of water, and ate under calories, so expected it to come back down. Now if I can just stay on track for the next 2 days and finish strong.
01/31 - 148.5 Nice ending to the month. Lost a total of 3.9 pounds for January, so I can't really complain about that. The closer I get to my actual goal the slower my progress gets, but that's ok. I will take what I can get. Stayed on track yesterday with calories and water, also day 3 of no alcohol or sugary drink of any kind. Hopefully will finish the round strong tomorrow.
02/01 - 147.6 Today has just been amazing! Dropped another pound to end this round which started my morning off right! Then my second oldest came into our room and showed us the acceptance email from the college he was wanting to get into! He had worked so hard trying to get into this school and it has been kind of stressful waiting to hear! I didn't think it could get any better and then my 13 year old son's teacher emailed me (which is usually never positive), he is the one that has autism (high functioning) and is in almost all special ed classes. Middle school has been a struggle socially and academically for him. She said he was chosen to be student of the month because of his "excellent behavior" last month and his "pretty good grades". I called my DH almost in tears and told him I think we need to by a lottery ticket today. Lol, I know 1 is getting into college and 1 just got student of the month, but this was such a major accomplishment for both of them. I have not had a drop of alcohol in 5 days and was not planning on drinking until Sunday for the Super bowl, but after today I may have a beer to celebrate! On to the next round.

01/23 11st 6.6lb Slow and steady.
01/24 11st 6.6lb No loss but I've done a lot of walking today, so I'm hoping that it will make a difference when I weigh in tomorrow
01/25 11st 5.2lb Very happy with this. Depending on how I feel after the dentist today, I might do some more walking - I tripled the goal on my Garmin yesterday, but it was quite low because I'd not been out the day before.
01/26 11st 6.0lb Thought yesterday was too good to be true. Ate just over my calories yesterday, 1229, and I still had 243 exercise calories I could have had. The day before I had 383 calories left which I didn't eat. I never lose if I exceed my alloted 1200 calories.
01/27 11st 7.0lb Oh dear. Didn't accrue many exercise calories, but my calorie intake was only 1061. Hard not to feel disheartened.
01/28 11st 6.6lb
01/29 unable to weigh

01/28 223.4 How?? I had a great day; closed all my circles, drank all my water, 10K steps. My scale seems to love this number. My monthly goal was to lose 8 lbs, so I'm determined to get this down in the next 3 days!

SW: 124.0
GW: 120.0
01/23: 124.0
01/22: 124.0 Today was a fair day.
01/25: 123.4 I ate about 600 calories in candy instead of lunch. Ha. Love a good sabotage.
01/26: 123.4 I need to keep in mind - "Just give me 10 days" next time I 'want' to eat candy instead of a real meal. Another poster mentioned something similar above, I have started to either feel I deserve to eat whatever I want or I am at an ok weight so therefore I can afford to eat poorly thinking it won't affect me too negatively. Or it could be something else entirely. I must stop doing it. Stop doing for the next 7 days would be a good start! I will.
01/27: 122.8 Lazy Sunday. It was a good day.
01/28: 122.8
01/29: 123.4 I am pleased that I have been logging this week. I have been in maintenance for some time and it can be easy to get “slack” when I stop logging. You know what you know but it doesn’t always mean you practice what you know. Ha. 10 days chipmunk.
01/30: 122.8 it’s so cold!!!! Wow.
01/31: 122.8
02/01: 122.8 Same weight 5 times this cycle. Overall it’s a loss so that’s good!9 -

My third Long Term Weight Goal: To weigh 145 by the 4th of July using the same plan as above.
Exercise:
During each Weight goal I plan on increasing my walking (back to what I did when I was on a downward trend). I also want to increase my cardio and regularly use weights to help firm my flabby arms.

Day/Weight/Comment
01/23 ….. 187.1 ….. This thing we always hear about it being hard to lose weight in the winter…. Well, they ain’t kiddin’ folks! It’s not just the holidays! It’s being stuck in during these snow storms & much much more.
01/24 ….. 186.8 ….. Yesterday was great. Right on plan. IF 18:6 Over six hours of sleep which is phenomental for me! 21 Net Carbs. 1062 Calories. 16,231 steps. 6.93 miles of activity. 13/13 steps hours on fitbit. I danced 53 minutes (my son danced 39 of them with me!) Sample song: Beautiful Loser by Bob Segar.
01/25 187.3 No dancing yesterday but I did get in a 35 minute walk. IF 16:8. 10,193 steps total. 4.34 miles. 12/13 step hours. 2301 calories burned. 4 hours 30 minutes of sleep.
01/26 ….. 187.1….. 14 Net Carbs. 1365 Calories. I burned 2604 calories. 13,363 steps overall. 5.71 miles overall. 13/13 step hours on fitbit. Slept 4 hours 23 minutes which is typical. My awake/eating window is bigger than normal due to such little daily sleep so I keep it in check with 16:8 IF. I aerobic danced 53 minutes. One of the songs was “Give credit where credit is due” by Meghan Trainor
01/27 …..186.9 ….. 12 Net Carbs. 1144 Calories. I burned 2549 Calories for the day. 13,155 steps overall. 5.58 miles overall. 13/13 step hours on fitbit. I slept an amazing 7 hours 57 minutes last night (which I haven’t done in years!) IF 16:8. I danced for 55 minutes. One of the songs was “Born to Run” by Bruce Springsteen. 01/28 …..186.7….. Fat is melting away in a slow drip but I’ll take it I had a Long work day yesterday but got in lots of steps, then a couple of sets of dancing later, some with son. Great numbers to report: 10 Net Carbs. 1040 Calories. I burned 2853 calories for the day. 22,158 total steps & 9.39 miles! Yay me! 13/13 step hours on fitbit. IF was at 21:3 because of late start eating & time restraints. I slept 5 hours 27 minutes. I danced for 150 minutes and my son danced 53 of them with me! One of the songs was “I Can’t Get Next To You”, by the Temptations.
01/29 184.8 Whoosh, there it is! Yesss….. Finally the dancing is showing up on the scale. Diet has stayed on point too. Keeping this momentum up has not been too difficult. I love it when I get to these strong points. It’s just a matter of getting through the weak ones first till you reach the other side! I hope this lasts awhile. 22 Net Carbs. 1264 Calories. I burned 2616 Calories. 16,584 steps & 7.05 miles. 13/13 step hours on fitbit. IF 16:8. I slept 4 hours 31 minutes. I danced 83 minutes. One of the songs was “Have you ever seen the Rain” by Creedence Clearwater Revival. It’s a bit of a different version on Alexa, but I like it. I played it on the warmup side of my set ( a couple of songs in the middle of the set are my fastest peak). I tried to get “When Doves Cry” by Prince but Alexa wouldn’t give it to me. Drats! Thanks to everyone for the nice comments, the likes, and the emails I’m getting regarding the dancing. I am so happy to hear that some of you have picked up the “habit” too. It feels good to give something back when I have taken so much from all of you. This is wonderful! And to @quiltingjaine : I’m another crazy person that puts my scale EXACTLY in the same spot on the floor for weighing. I understand our craziness. I, too, want to see the EXACT difference in my weight from day to day. Also, I wanted you to know that I had 2 TBSP of PB last night (like I did a few weeks ago), regular creamy Jif. Last time I marched an extra mile for it. This time I danced an extra bit at 11:00 PM for it which was more fun & went by quicker . Of course, I saved room in my macros for it! I needed a little bit of a snack & the PB offered some protein, not just all sugar like a cheat treat. I’m mentioning again so all the newbies can see that if we cave & have a LNS, we must choose as wisely as possible, then get up off our bums and work it off! Have a good day everyone!
01/30 …..184.8….. Holding Steady which is great after my dinner last night! Had a friend over to watch a Netflix movie which turned out to be pretty cheesy and not so scary afterall. NET Carbs 99. Calories 1906. Yikes. I burned 2551 calories. 12,284 steps overall & 5.24 miles. I slept 4 hours 26 minutes and got 12/13 fitbit step hours. I only lost the one hour when I was getting my haircut yesterday at the salon. I danced 43 minutes. No afternoon set due to hair and no makeup time in the evening due to my guest being over. But that was an extra 277 calories I burned so I’ll take it! Thanks to @quiltingjaine for the PB suggestions. I was hoping when the threw the brand name Jif out there someone would have a better idea! I am traveling today to the nearest small town for shopping & to stop by the veterinary clinic. I will check out your PB suggestions. If not, I’ll check Amazon. I’m worried about being out of town. We usually get Chinese since it’s something we can’t get near home & oh, my the bloat and water retention. We’ll see what happens. I’ll try to make good high protein choices and will slaughter any problems that arise tomorrow. Sample song yesterday was “Lightening Strikes” by Lou Christie. A golden oldie 50’s, 60’s song. His songs were always so fun to hear with the voice change. Have a great Hump day everyone!
01/31 …..186.9 Drats. I knew that Chinese food would rear it’s ugly head on my scale. I logged my food as best I could figure but it is probably not super accurate. Way over carbs & Calories. Not much movement as I was sitting a lot during travel. I burned 2186 calories for the day . 8102 steps total & 2.78 miles. 10/13 fitbits step hours. 4 hours 23 minutes of sleep. 21 minutes of very tired late night dancing but included a great peak song “uptown funk” by Mark Ronson featuring Bruno Mars. A perfect dancing song to get the blood pumping. Pool Hall & potluck tonight which will make 3 days of social engagements in a row. Ugg. The Pool Hall usually means more carbs, less steps, less dancing and more sitting. But it’s nice to get out. Our governor has called Michigan a state of Emergency for consistent cold & wind chill temps 2 days ago. Last night emergency messages came on our cell phones asking us to turn our heats down to 65 degrees F until Saturday due to too much power being used by our power company that caused a fire at a power plant. No relief indoors even at 65 degrees! Yikes. Thankfully, it’s supposed to be a very strange warmup this weekend, which will be a mess of sloppy mud & nasty dirt roads in our area. But at least warmer…..Today I’ll try to fit in a dance session before I leave. @quiltingjaine – I found the Smuckers Natural PB at Walmart. It was under $4.00 for the medium size jar. The only ingredients are Peanuts & less than 1% salt. It will be a nice addition for last minutes catch-up protein. I must go start car now & let it run. 3 days this week I have needed a jumpstart because of temps & I have a new battery! Stay warm everyone & keep moving. Try “Uptown Funk”. It’s a perfect song for that crazy dance person in you!
02/01 …..186.9….. I’m very happy with no gain considering the potluck last night. A loss of 0.2 for the round is better than I would have expected. Chalk it up to the dancing! Too many calories & carbs to get accurate or list for yesterday. Here are the other stats: I burned 2520 calories overall. 12,460 total steps & 6.06 miles. 13/13 fitbit step hours. 5 hours 44 minutes of sleep. 68 minutes of dancing. Sample song “Twist & Shout” by the Beatles. Today was a heavy administrative day & lots of phone calls, skypes & texts due to my older sister being taken to hospital in Tennessee (I’m in Michigan) with heart attack. Almost 64 years of age, T2D. We don’t know if or when she will be out of the woods. Multiple heart blockages right now & inoperable. I won’t have much to report for activity tomorrow but I will keep my eating plan on point. Dancing? We’ll see how my time works out between work & the emergency. Nice round everyone! See you in the next one.

@farmercarla love the avocado suggestion, thanks! I eat it all the time, but never thought about slicing and snacking on it a like a slice of cheese .... 👍 that could get addictive
and thought I posted these earlier.
Round 66 Goals: (1) Meditate for 15 minutes @ least 4 days (2) exercise a combined 60+ minutes for 6 of the next 10 days and (3) finish proud of yourself.

1/27: 216.6 @ 6:00am - 15 mins meditation & 60 mins exercise done. Have a great day everyone!
1/28: 217.0 @ 8:00am - uuggh, was expecting a bump after my cheat day yesterday so no surprise, but I am sick of seeing this number! Time for a reset!!! Keeping IF 16/8 but ditching Keto, going back to LC eating and starting a new 8 week plan to shake things up a bit. No looking back! (30 minutes exercise)
1/29: 215.9 @ 8:30am - 20 mins meditation only exercise today, though Donna has inspired me to get in a little shimmy shimmy before bed
1/30: 217.4 @ 8:30am – not sure, but thinking my weight this round is reflecting my emotions. I’ve been feeling so shaky and fragile the past two weeks, even the quality of my sleep is taking a hit with some awful dreaming. Normally awareness and self-reflection lead to correction pretty quickly, but I can’t even speak without fear of crying. JEEEZZZZ Louise I’m feeling as sensitive as old TOM. Will probably keep my mouth shut and my head down for a while, but know I’m still rooting for you guys. 9(50 minutes exercise / 30 minutes meditation
1/31: 215.8 @ 9:00am - hallelujah. (30 minutes exercise no meditation)
2/01: 216.2 @ 5:30am – (60 mins combo / 15 mins meditation) Didn’t meet my exercise goals yet, but I'm getting there. Ending -2.4 and a total of 12 for the month. Keep pressing Fit Fam ~ see you next round.8 -
I am 5'1" SW 148 GW 125
01/23. 148. 67.1kg
01/24 146.8. Good to see a wee drop. I've been going over daily Cal's by about 60. I figure it will take me a week to adjust. Concentrating on getting the nutrients right, not so easy when daily calouries is 1200. But I'm definitely eating healthier and that's exactly what I need!
01/25 146.8. Going strong, managed to have only one chocolate almond 😃
01/26. 145.5 It's been a good day...staying strong
01/27. 145.5. Admitted to hospital.
01/28. Hospital food is yummy! Couldn't resist the desert or the extra piece of toast. How can you when it's placed in front of you.😄
01/29. 145.5. At least I didn't gain. I've had a good day diet wise and stayed well within my calouries.
01/30 145.5 I am unable to exercise but hopefully have another drop soon.
01/31. 145.5 lb. 66kg. A bit discouraged that I haven't dropped a wee bit more. Though not being able to exercise, maybe I'm expecting too much. So I'm going to try at getting 1 lb or 500gm off per 10 days. Struggled with craving but praise God I overcome.
02/01. 144.6 lb. 65.6kg. Yay another loss!
Very pleased with progress. Down 3.4 lb. 1.5kg
See you round 67!

This is my lucky thirteenth round. The last round was good until the end...so I'm hoping for a better time this round. I may decide to reset my Mini-goals....rather than be frustrated for the next 5 months!! They looked pretty reasonable at the start of January.

01/23 - 156 -- Yeah. The cake yesterday. I'm mostly in a better frame of mind today and TOM left, finally, after a two week visit!
01/24 - 154.5 -- Here we go again. Down below start weight. Now to see if I can end below start weight!
01/25 - 152.5 -- Whoosh! I feel I deserve it, but trying not to get too excited given all the ups and downs lately.
01/26 - 151.5 -- Still holding my breath. Been back on the keto train after the cake wreck....
01/27 - 151 -- Clearly something is working right...Although I guess this has happened before, with wild bounces followed by a drop, followed by more bounces. This challenge definitely helps me ride the roller coaster!
01/28 - 151.5 -- Good day yesterday, so no worries with the slight bounce up.
01/29 - 149.5 -- Being good this month is finally starting to show! So excited to see this decade! Expecting a little bit of bounce. (I'm writing this now so I don't freak out when it happens!) Maybe my mini goals can stay after all!
01/30 - 149 -- YAY! Hit by January mini-goal!! We had a no snow snow day yesterday. They cancelled school Monday afternoon because they thought we were going to get rain turning to snow overnight, followed by a hard freeze til noon. It was a proper Alabama snow day, with no snow and low temps of 33 (although the "real feel" was supposedly 22). People in the south have a hard time predicting these things, and a real fear of getting it wrong since the state only has about 3 plows!
01/31 - 150.5 -- Ate a little bit more yesterday because I was feeling tired and low energy. Had a few extra carbs, too.
02/01 - 151 -- (Never got around to posting yesterday). Not the lowest weight for the round, but finally a drop for January! It's not exactly a 4 lb loss for this round, more of a 4 lb loss total for the last 4 rounds!

1/25: 235.0. 2100 calories. 40 minute workout and 80 minute walk. My weight is really consistent right now. I probably need to drop my calories below 2000 to see a significant downward trend. ROUND 66 (Round 12 for me)
5’5” 67 y/o Texas Lady
SW 178 lb.
GW 135 lb.
Cumulative weight loss for Rounds 54-65 = 36.4 lb.
I started Round 54 and Keto WOE on September 24, 2018. My arthritis hip and shoulder pain have decreased significantly since my second week of Keto. Staying within calorie limits is easy enough, but not exceeding my carb limit is still tricky for me. I check my ketone level with a KetoMojo meter a couple of times a week to make sure my numbers are good. Some of my NSVs: feeling less self-conscious, wedding band fits, smaller clothing, a happy husband, and inspiring said husband to work a little harder on quitting his cigarette habit. The closer I get to my goal, the more excited and motivated I become! Don’t expect me to disappear when I reach maintenance. I like you folks, and I really appreciate and enjoy your company!
Day/Weight/Comment
01/23 143.4 (sigh) Easy come, easy go. I’m up almost 2 pounds from my weigh-in yesterday. If I’d gone back to bed, I wonder how long it would have taken to go down? Oh well, I had to go to work and a foot doctor appointment this afternoon. I’m less than 10 lb. from my goal, and I will get there. It may not go down tomorrow. It’s cold, and I’m treating myself to a glass of dry red wine. I prefer sweet, but this is pretty good. It’s probably good because I’m not used to sugar anymore. As long as I’m ready for our cruise in April, I’ll be happy. I found out my daughter and her husband are signed up for the same cruise (not planned), and my granddaughter called from Kansas, very excited, to say they’ve decided to take her out of school that week so she can go! We love cruising with and spending time with my granddaughter and took her to Alaska last summer. She has a boyfriend now, so I expect her to start spending less time with me, and over 700 miles between us doesn’t help, either. Please excuse me, but I’m using these daily posts as a journal and keeping copies. Kill two birds with one stone kind of thing?
01/24 141.0 Yesterday’s gain is gone, so I’m glad I didn’t stress over it. I’ve corrected my priorities after someone in the Christian MFP group I belong to asked if we were more diligent about logging in MFP than we were about our Bible study. I found myself guilty, so Bible study is now done with breakfast rather than logging in here first. I played cards with friends today, and I took Thor for a 5 mile walk this afternoon. It was a very pleasant day.
01/25 141.4 Hmm…. it’s up just a little, so I’m still good. Last night, I was pleased to discover I’m already doing better, and more, pushups and sit-ups. I’m getting stronger! I hoped to go to lunch or leave work early today, but lots of folks are ready to complete their tax returns. I ate two boiled eggs and a little slice of cheddar for breakfast and didn’t get another chance to eat until I arrived home this evening. Actually, our break room has lots of candy and other carb-laden snacks, but I know better than to give in. I made it through the day!
01/26 140.4 I slept in this morning, then had a busy day. Thor and I got in a 6.4 mile walk, and my husband and I grocery shopped and had dinner at Denny’s this evening. It was good—the senior tilapia with salad, broccoli, and squash—all keto approved. I still have to get in my sit-ups and pushups before bedtime.
01/27 140.6 My walks are still taking time to pay off, but I can wait. I stayed up late last night, then rose early this morning for church. I’m about to take my Sunday nap, then I’ll try a couple of new recipes. It’s nice having meals I can just heat up during the week, especially on days I work.
01/28 140.6 I’m a little stuck, and I didn’t get a chance to walk today. It would have been a great day to walk, but I had too many clients at work. We do what we have to do. I made a great vegetable (cabbage, spinach, celery, Ro-Tel tomatoes) beef (top round steak) soup in my pressure cooker this evening. I didn’t try to log it because I was in a hurry and didn’t take time to record the recipe and calculate the number of servings. My husband likes it, too, so that makes it a winner. I will complete my pushups and sit-ups before I go to bed. It seems funny, but I enjoy doing them. The cold front has arrived this evening. The wind sounds fierce, and I’m so grateful I don’t live up north. God bless those of you who do, and I pray you can stay warm!
01/29 141.6 Okay, this makes me a little angry. I don’t like going up and down (only down). I went to an appointment to adjust my orthotics this morning, and I need to wear them a few times before taking a long walk. I had to get up early this morning, so I took a nap. I leave for singing group practice in a few minutes. I know the last few pounds are usually the hardest, so I’m trying to be patient.
01/30 140.2 That’s more like it. I could have gone for a walk today—it’s not nearly as cold as it is in the northern states, but it’s still cold for me. I have a sore calf and sore foot, probably both from my orthotics, so that’s my other excuse. I feel bad for those of you suffering with the bitter cold to my north. You’re in my prayers.
I know this is off topic, but there’s something heavy on my heart today. I’m praying, with a broken heart for healing of the spreading cancer of immorality in our nation. New York’s decision to allow abortion up to the birth date of children, and legalize killing the children if they are born alive, is sickening. Virginia has followed suit, and Rhode Island is considering doing the same. Already, in New York, it’s reported more children are aborted than are born. How can this evil exist in a nation founded on Godly principles? I'll try not to mention it again, but it's so disturbing.
01/31 140.6 Okay, I’m stuck. At least I’m stuck 37 lb. lighter than I was 19 weeks ago. Regarding my post yesterday, I was relieved to find out the abortion bill in Virginia was voted down in the subcommittee before coming to a full vote. I had a birthday today, or yesterday, since it’s after midnight, my time. I don’t feel older! Yay!
02/1 139.6 I like that, but it’s unusual. The scale gave me a break this morning, even though I went to bed late and got up early. I took a 60 minute walk yesterday, but it was in the house, no hills. I moved the furniture to clear a path through the kitchen, dining room, and living room. Thor started out following me, but then decided to lay down in my path. I tried to alternate the leg I used to step over him. I worked late today and returned home after 8 pm. I’ve decided to see how I manage without logging for a few days. I hope I know and respect my limits by now. Tomorrow will be a busy day. I get to spend 6 hours learning new music and choreography, then visit my mother-in-law to wish her a happy 97th birthday. That reminded me to change my age at the top of my post. Saving the best for last, the plan is to enjoy a dinner date with my husband to celebrate my birthday. I’ve noticed it takes longer to celebrate as we get older. I should go to bed soon, but I’ll probably be up late, as usual.
How did this round end so quickly?

Round 65 -|- End Goal: < 166
22/01: 165.6: Goals Aw, well! I was sitting in meetings all day and into the evening, so I'm very pleased with my end weight. My mean weight is back down to what it was at the beginning of December. My smart scale app informs me that I will reach my goal weight 2 weeks before my birthday in April. Now, that would be a great Birthday present.
Round 66 ~|~ End Goal: < 165
23/01: 165.6: Goals ✅ Went grocery shopping am, then Playreading after lunch. Lots of walking and stayed on track.
24/01: 165.6: Goals ✅ Spent the day organising my craft materials and fitted in lots of exercise.
25/01: 165.5: Goals ✅ Had a very good induction at the gym for my 10 week Boditrax course. I'm feeling the burn. My metabolic age is 7 years less than my chronological age! Everything else was either in the green range or just out of it so I am hoping to get them all into the green by the end of the course.
26/01: 165.3: Goals ✅ Lots of exercise, as we were going out for dinner with family. Stayed well under goal.
27/01: 165.4: Goals ✅ Gippy tummy from the rich food last night, even though I made good choices. I think it was the dessert which was a compote if dried fruit. Much too much sugar. Ate very simply today.
28/01: 165.3: Goals ✅ Gym session first thing, and walked home part of the way. Happy that there was no weekend upswing to speak of.
29/01: 165.2: Goals ✅ Several outdoor walks, a cardio session, and short strength/flex workouts.
30/01: 165.2: Goals ✅ Cardio and strength at the gym seems to be paying off. I've increased my protein a little to aid muscle toning. 👍🏻 After a week, it does appear to be working. Delighted that weight is still creeping down.
31/01: 165.0: Goals ✅ 😍 I saw 164 flash on the scale but it settled on this. I'll take it.
01/01: 165.1: Goals ✅ Almost there!
THERE ARE NO QUICK FIXES OR SHORTCUTS to achieving permanent change.
REMINDERS One or two thoughts which might give heart to some of you.- Daily weight fluctuations are normal, and can be as much as 2 lbs a day for no apparent reason.
- A general downward trend is what we are looking for.
- Eating out can cause apparent weight gain because of high sodium levels, but usually goes quickly. Drinking extra water helps with this.
- The human body does not react instantly to what we do to it. Sometimes it can take several days to see results.
- Plateaus are a normal part of the process. The body is consolidating and adapting to your new way of eating/exercising.
- The closer you get to your goal weight, the more difficult it becomes to lose weight, as your body becomes more efficient at using what you feed it.
- When you exercise you build muscle, which takes up less space than fat, so use measurements as well as weight to assess your progress.
- Getting/Staying fit and healthy requires a lifestyle change for most people.

Lost down to 180 doing lazy keto last spring, but the summer vacations came and then the holidays
and I put all of the weight back on. I am going to be consistant with tracking my food...good or bad...and
get healthier this year.
Starting weight on 1/9/19 203
Day/Weight/Comment
01/23 198.8
01/24 198.6 Started IBIH soup diet yesterday. Usually go up a pound after day 1...so I'll take it!
01/25 197.6 1 pound down! I ate between 5 pm and 6:30 pm. Stuck strickly to the plan and drank lots of water.
13,000 steps. Just going to keep plugging along.
01/26 197.4 Well..at least it's going down, if only slightly. Had a rough day at work and had 2 glasses of wine last
night. 13,000 steps logged yesterday. Going to do my HIT workout today and go for a 3 mile walk.
01/27 196.4 Going down...I like it! Did my 3 mile walk, but did not do my weights. Going to brunch with family. Will make smart choices.
01/28 197.8 ugg...walked 6 miles yesterday and worked out with weights. My food was on track, but water was under. I'll just keep plugging on!
01/29 197.6 NSV..yesterday was Teacher Appreciation day. I walked in to free Chcik fil a in the teacher's lounge, a cart of donuts wheeled to my classroom and a luncheon. I just had a half a chicken breast and some lettuce and veggies at the luncheon and resisted all of the other treats.
I kept tp my plan in the evening and walked 11,000 steps. Not much scale movement, but I'm sure it will come.
01/30 196.4 Hoping this downward trend will continue!
01/31 195.8 Going down.....sloooooooowly.....
02/01 194.4 YAY! 4.4 lbs lost this round. I've never been a daily weigher, but plan on continuing the next round. Hope to keep this downward trend going.
02/02 194.2 Had some wine last night, but kept everything else on plan. Did not get any excercise. Today is a beutiful day, so my goal is 15,000 steps.
Lost 4.6 pounds this round! Ready for round 67!!

Yip, ready for round 3. This one wasn't as amazing as I had envisioned!
Second round for me. 51; Mum of 2 grown boys; wife of 1 husband:) Living in San Diego, originally from Zimbabwe and 4 years in Zambia.
Round 66
Interim goal:- 166 or less
Next big goal:- 164 - into 'just fat' and out of obese on the BMI scale
Final goal:- 134
Track every day. Walk every day if I can - it's not hard on my body, so there are no excuses.
Make good food choices, plan my meals and grocery shopping.
01/23 169 Walked 70 mins treadmill. Field trip, exhausted. Within calories but made brownies for a work birthday so calories were not good
01/24 169 Rest day, tired
01/25 169 Holding steady. 60 mins treadmill, calories within limit and tracked.
01/26 167.2 walked 90 mins on trails. Calories good choices except 2 glasses red wineIt's the weekend!
01/27 167.6 Walked again on trails, beautiful weather.
01/28 167.6 Walked on treadmill, calories not tracked yet but should be good.
01/29 167.6 Rest day, tired this morning. Still got in 10 000 steps at work. Within calories and just busy making balsamic veggie pasta for school lunches.
01/30 167.8 Walked 80mins treadmill. Not making good food choices, but still within calories. Tracking daily, becoming a habit now, great! Really wanted to be 166 this round, but doesn't look like it.
01/31 167.2 Walked 70 mins treadmill. Super Bowl chili at work - was super hungry, rough day all round. Calories just scraped in but that was with added exercise calories. Tracked everything tho.
02/01 167 even. Walked 70 mins treadmill. Calories were within limit. Tracked.
2 pound loss to end this round. OK with that.8
