Did Amy Dixon’s Breathless Body DVD today. The plan for tomorrow is to do Stephanie Vitorino’s DVD
I did find out last night that I can quilt without the frame. To me, by doing this I feel I have greater control over the needle, so I don’t hate quilting quite as much. Without the frame, it seems that the stitches give the item you’re quilting more depth. Still, that’s not my favorite thing to do. I just don’t find it relaxing.
Newcomer board meeting today. This is the absolute last one. Yippee! Tonight, ceramics. I’m thinking that after the board meeting we should go to WalMart, Vince has a prescription he needs by tomorrow and I have one that I need by Sunday.
M – I’ve heard of lowering your head because of bp. They did that to Vince once. So many times I see on TV that they lower the body. Many times I lower my head when I take yoga. I’m nowhere near old, at least I don’t feel it (most days). That instructor must be young. Have you ever had an Envy apple? They are SOOO sweet.
Phew! Been really busy and haven’t been in here for a while.
Thurs I did a strength training DVD, then went to the dentist and got my permanent crown put on, then the Green Room, then got recertified in CPR, then bowling at night. Fri went to the deep water class. The plan for tomorrow (Sat) is to do an advanced pilates DVD
Fri here, Vince and I need to go to WalMart to pick up some prescriptions and a few other things. There appears to be a problem with the Newcomer mail list. It looks from all my investigation the problem is that Brian is the owner and he died. The president is going to send a copy of his death certificate to me and hopefully google will make me the owner.
After the board meeting, the gal who is going to take over membership (thank you for telling me that someone else was!) came over to my house. Now she’s the gal who worked for IBM. Well, I showed her what I do and she was impressed with the website, said she was going to look into getting an organization to run it. I agreed with her in that what do we do if the guy who is the present webmaster dies? If we were with an organization, if one employee is no longer there, they have someone else who can it up for us. But if something happens to him, we’re up a creek. She said she was going to investigate it.
The new president evidently looked at microphones and decided which one she likes so they’re getting it. Even tho Vince asked questions about them that she couldn’t answer. His questions would lead anyone to realize that maybe he knows what he’s talking about and they should use his knowledge. But, nope, she decided what she wanted. Is this an indication of “my way or the highway”. I don’t know. It’s a good thing that Vince isn’t on the board because I know him and if he doesn’t agree with something, he speaks his mind. So glad we’re out. Anyway, I told this gal (membership) that until she gets everything straightened out with the website, I will continue to do what I’ve always done.
Katla – I just like the way hand stitching a quilt looks versus machine quilting. But I think I may have to have someone machine quilt the other lap quilt for me. See, the top piece of material was quilted already. I x-stitched but the only thing I can think of that will look fairly decent is if it was quilted on top of the other quilting. At least that’s my thought, I’m going to run it by someone else. Update: spoke to the other lady. She suggested invisible thread. I never even knew there was such a thing!
Adra was at the CPR class yesterday. I think she’s getting too deep into Newcomers. While we were waiting, she was telling me all about how she sent this and that to Brenda for the newsletter. I could tell that the lady who was running the CPR was bored like “I really don’t care about this”. There’s a time for everything. Well, I just ignored it. I didn’t mention anything about a problem with the mail list because I knew that she’d just freak out. There’s nothing that can be done right now. Today I’m supposed to Skype with the guy who set up the mail list originally and hopefully he can help me become an owner. Carol also said that she’d send me a copy of Brian’s death certificate
Kim – thanks for telling me that you can sub plain yogurt for half and half. I have some h&h that I need to use up. From now on I’ll use plain yogurt and won’t have some to have to use up
Rebecca – if you really want that house, I hope you get it
M – Jess was saying that most of her classes are also online. She prefers to go to the class since you can ask questions right then and there. But they are online also.
I think I finally talked Vince into having a pool party this summer for the neighborhood. He originally wanted to invite only those on my street. He feels very uncomfortable inviting and having people bring children. But I felt bad when others had neighbors over but didn’t invite us.
The weather is predicted to get warmer for the rest of this week. I’m hoping that we can get the pool started opening. We just won’t talk about the fact that it’s supposed to get cold next week.
Barbie – I know how much you love teaching, so it’s no wonder you accepted the request to substitute
Dana – 67 lbs!!! I would never want to get that low. I’m with you, I love my food too much, especially my veges and fruit. I usually go over on my carbs, but I know that’s because I eat so much fruit
Barbara – your cart reminds me of our gorilla cart, only ours isn’t all metal but a heavy duty plastic.
Remember that pair of Lee jeans I got for $18? Well, I usually take a 10 in Lee, and this pair is only an 8 but it’s too big. I’m going to try to get them taken in. Not sure if it can be.

Nykaren-- You are so brave to have those young people staying with you. I get so stressed out when people come to stay, even family. So afraid of being judged I guess.

We had one day of 60 degree weather and now today more rain and only 30's. Sounds like later this evening and tomorrow they are talking about 2-4 inches of snow. Just what we need as they are starting to get the water from the flooding cleaned up. We are to go to Broken Bow tomorrow for a state ralley for our motorcycle group. Will be driving the car and depends on the weather is we go. I am so ready for spring.

Happy Friday. That’s a day most of us like......with wk end to enjoy. Been getting some Spring cleaning done....also
Need to sort & send clothes to resale shop.We took a load of chairs,kitchen stuff,books & a few linens to their store

Wanted to share a pic of flowers DD brought me yesterday. The pitcher is my fav.......& belongs to her. Makes me smile to look at them. Haven’t read much,see you all next month. Pat in Oh.

vickie I feel the same way having people over, (we have very simple, minimalist taste, not fancy at all). But we both agreed, these young people are far from their homes and this is a great opportunity for them to see NYC for the first time in an affordable way. My DD is a great little tour/event planner, and is excited about this chance to share her love of nyc with west coasters! DH and I will just deal with it

oh boy, my DYS just asked to stay a our place for 2 days while touring area colleges with her kid in April also....wait till I tell DH. When it rains it pours!

On company - I love to have company, the more the merrier! When my friends came, they often came in mass and we had 12-14 people staying with us, including kids. Of course, that only happened every few years and now the kids are all grown so it's just the adults now and the numbers are down.

Just finished watching the final of Masterchef.
The day went really well. We collected Bea from her home and DDIL told us she was going out to meet my son and they would not be coming back before the restaurant meal. OK.
Kids were great coming home, but tea time was a bit of a scramble. Not much of what I had prepared was eaten, but it didn't seem to matter. We finished off with Oreos! :laugh:
Putting Bea to bed was my job and as soon as that was finished (phew!) I went out for fish and chips with mushy peas. Could not resist buying a bottle of Prosecco to go with it.
All the kids are asleep. My son rang twice during the evening to check everything was OK. I was in a state because my phone had gone crazy, was hot, and had run down the battery. I assured him that my panic was nothing to do with the kids, just a technology malfunction. I think turning the phone off and on again has cured it.
Expecting them home soon. It sounded as if the meal, and especially the soda flight was going well.

Thought I'd post this. Left at 184 in November, 2018 got up to 195 before starting KETO. The other today at 169. 20 more pounds to go!

Well bless Shane's heart he and his buddy came and put a new water heater in...electrician here tomorrow to put fixtures up..and the last guy coming Sunday to put rest of shiplap up..
Speaking of shiplap they shipped it here and I brought the boxes into the condo and proceeded to drop the box on my.foot..swelled up and think I might have got a few hairline fractures on top of foot.. so I have iced and kept off it.7 -

One of my March goals ... well every month actually ... is to try a new recipe. Received my #misfitsmarket vegetable box yesterday and it included organic carrots with their tops. Tonight we had Cashew Carrot Top Pesto and Roasted Carrots. Probably one of the best things I have ever eaten!

Everyone take care, Sue in WA Thanks for asking about my bulbs. They all started coming up before the snow, then got buried by the snow, and now that the snow is gone and it's warmer, they are starting to bloom. First the crocus and now the daffodils along the side and the hyacinths across the front. I am so excited. I walk my dogs past them morning and afternoon so I can enjoy their progress. Barbie

When you have been offered a job, it is very simple to say that you need "x" time off as your daughter is getting married on this date. Most employers will be understanding. If the interview is getting very chatty, especially now that the date is getting closer, the upcoming nuptials could be mentioned than also. Keeping my fingers crossed for you! I know the right job is out there, just waiting for you!
