I'm about ready to give up coffee. Helps that I only have enough left for one more cup lol.
But b-hole just can't take the laxative effect it's having on me since going carnivore. It's not fun running to the bathroom after enjoying some coffee. Just not worth it and can't be good for my gut that needs to be healing right now.
I'm going to finish it off tomorrow and... that's it. Goodbye delicious warm coffee.
Time to start making some good broths again to have on cold mornings! :)

I think I may have to remove chicken as a main meat.... maybe just keep it and treat as a side dish.
I had some for lunch. 2 thighs and 2 legs and while it did fill me up, not satisfying at all. An hour later and I wanted something else to eat.
I'm craving some sirloin though (dinner tonight) which I find surprising. I thought I would be sick of steak at this point b/c it's happened in the past w/ ribeyes, but since giving those up.. right now... I REALLY want some sirloins or those pork NBs.

Feeling not too shabby though. Reduced diet soda has been going well. Sometimes I have 2, sometimes just one a day.

OH and I've noticed the last few times I've washed my hair... I'm not losing as much. Hopefully it's just not a fluke and I start seeing some regrowth. It would be nice getting my thick hair back.

And offtopic.... DH and I started talking about wanting to move. Or well.. HE wants to eventually move to the county we're like a mile from. Supposed to be a good area and what I thought was just all wooded and a bit redneck. Apparently NOT. Looked up homes in the area for sale and houses about our size and even smaller going for like 300k!! WTH??
Anywho, ever since he brought it up, I've been obsessed with looking at empty lots and then looking up house designs lol. We might move eventually, but it definitely won't be some custom built dream home. We aint rich! ;) lol

Everytime I read what you've eaten it makes me want to eat low carb!!! :p

Glad to hear that you are seeing signs that its working :+1: My hair drops like crazy and everyone tells me that is due to my hypothyroid issues. I was introduce to take Nascent Iodine and I will see how it goes after 1 week or 2. Are you guys moving to the countryside too? I love my little country home even though its 2 1/2 hours away from the Mel and 45 mins from a bigger town where we do our fortnightly shopping. <3

Moving to the country sounds super nice.....I have always wanted to. The housing market here is crazy booming right now, so if we were to sell we would be in great shape probably....but really I had rather just buy a beach condo in FL and make money renting it out when we aren't there.....the beach....totally my happy place......

Continued good luck on your meat eating :)

We definitely would love to move to the country or at least a little in to it. We both want a big plot of land. Definitely somewhere that isn't ruled by a crap HOA. The area DH wants to move to seems to be in super high demand though and house and empty lot prices are extremely high from what I've seen and it's only about... maybe 20min from us now so we wouldn't even be moving far lol.
We're not moving any time soon though and we'd actually be taking a loss selling our house. We bought it at the top of market value and I'm pretty sure the value of it has dropped at least 30k. Plus we'd have to invest a lot to fix it up.... at the very least to get new floors, upgrade a few of the features (like the sink faucets) and fix the little crap porch in the back. Getting hardwood floor would be the big one though.
Years and years down the road... yes... we'll probably be more serious about moving, but right now.. it's all just fantasizing about it ;)
I enjoy where we live and other than a few annoying things about our house, I love it here, but the thought of moving and having a big piece of property where I could have chickens and whatever else... if we had the money to move... I'd do it in an instant, especially since the kids are still really young so they'd probably take a move a lot easier than when they're older and more settled in with friends and whatnot.
Oh welp. One day... one day. :)

I think I'm going to try slightly higher fat today. I ate a lot yesterday, but didn't feel satisfied at all with any of it. I could've easily eaten at least 3 sirloins for dinner. Big thick steaks too.
Going to try slightly higher fat to see what happens.

Feeling good though. A little tired. Sleeping weird on my right knee so it's been waking me up in the night aching.

Oh.. also had my last cup of coffee for who knows how long. I've gone years without drinking it before so... we'll see if it goes that way again.

I LOVEEEEE THE COUNTRY!!! That dream house of mine is out in the boonies and on 7 acres <3 Let us know, you KNOW we'll participate in the event! LMAO - I hope your tummy holds and you get enough fat to feel satisfied - I find dairy does that for me??? I know that's weird, but even if I'm consuming low fat, the dairy somehow makes my heart/mind happy LOL

I wanna live at your house!!! Steak er'rywhere!!! :D

I lived on 12 acres for 15 years - loved it, and it was great for the kids, but never again! Happy being back in the city. 😊

Good luck with "slightly higher fat today" plan and I hope it works for you :+1: I am also not drinking any coffee as its not good for my thyroid. So sorry to hear about your knee. Hope it gets better soon <3

    Thanks everyone!
Oh if only we had like $450k just lying around lol. Looking around at homes for sale again (b/c I like torturing myself). Big gorgeous 11yo house for sale. Pool, has a separate MiL suite? (I think that's what they're called?) that's fully equipped w/ everything... and sits on 6 acres and it's probably only like 10min from where we live now so kids probably wouldn't change schools (at least not the elementary school).

Oh welp! I do love our house now but yeah... it is fun looking to see what is out there.

So first official day of no coffee and no poop at all today lol. Think it's b/c of the leaner meats I've been having. I mean it's only been a day so I don't feel bloated or anything but if it continues, it might mess with my weigh-in on monday lol. Oh well.
It's been going good here though. Just sort of chugging along and trying not to bump our grocery bills up too much more. They're already really high. They don't need to go higher!

    Oh forgot to mention.
Pretty sure I'm getting sick. Kids recently started coming down with a cold and seems I am now too. Maybe it won't be too bad. FX

Also AF should be showing up soon..... maybe. It's been irregular the last couple of times so I'm not sure when exactly. Great

SO yeah... while I don't think I've actually gained weight, I also won't be surprised if I see my weight up some on Monday too. It's ok though. I've been doing great on my diet!
Also decided to go ahead and start my dairy free month. Dang.... I'm gonna miss my cream cheese. But maybe my body will be happier without it. Just gotta wait and find out!

Ohhh that's no good. Take it easy, OK? Luckily bone broth is good for all that ails you!
  • LiLee2018LiLee2018 Member Posts: 1,159 Member Member Posts: 1,159 Member
I'm gonna have to take a trip to the store. No neckbones yesterday when we went shopping. Booooo
So no yummy warm broth to sip on. BOOOOOOOO
I could really use some right now b/c I am cold and... well... I just want some! lol

A little stuffier this morning but overall I don't feel too bad.

So our new scale is pretty nice, BUT any little thing under it can mess up the reading.
I got on it yesterday and whaaaaaaaa?? 175.something!! OMG what??? Did I magically lose 7lbs over night???
So I stepped on it again and... 163?? Holup! And that's when I saw the little magnetic wooden toy letter under it. lol

Boy wouldn't that be nice though. lol
I'll get there again eventually. My body is just going to take its sweet time with it.

I think.... I am going to start walking around the neighborhood tomorrow.
Lazy me is kicking and screaming, but more energy me is slightly wanting to do it  I will though so long as it's not raining! /nodnod

Had some center cut porkchops for dinner. The leaner part.. pfft, but the fattier part around the bone? NOM
Hopefully it doesn't make me sick. FX!

I love my bone broth too 🍖😍 My scale sounds like yours😂 My DS placed the scale on the carpet and when I got on it, I was nearly 5kg lighter and I was so happy😅 Then, like yourself I decided to do some investigation and I discovered that Mr Scale needs to be on my wooden floor for me to get the correct measurements😅😅😅 Good luck with you walking👍 Hopefully are are A-OK after your dinner🙏🤞

Sick AND lazy me don't want to do anything this morning. Played some VR last night. Hadn't played it in a while and holy moly my arms were SORE and aching all night long and kept me up all night /cry

Weigh-in this morning also didn't go so great. Up about 0.4lbs but I expected it. Now that coffee isn't flushing me out and my meals are actually sitting in me and digesting (hopefully), that along with being sick (maybe?) and hormonal bloat... not surprising to see my weight. Still sucks, but meh. Just wish AF would show up already. Get that crap over with! Should've just gotten the doctor to just take out my uterus when I had my last baby. It's not longer needed... no need to keep having annoying periods! lol

Measurements also weren't great either... but those can vary so much just depending on where I did it. Other than my waist... I never seem to get the spot that I got before so my measurements are all over the place lol.
Waist measurement is up some, but I also know I'm bloated too so there is a reason!

Pork chop meal stayed down pretty well. No nausea or reflux so yay :) Did wake up during the night needing to poop though. When you're already sleeping like crap.. that's the last thing you want to happen lol. Oh well.

I did have some nausea this morning but I think that was more from my cold and getting a bit overheated AND with an empty stomach.

BUT in good news... I really think my hair has stopped falling out at a ridiculous rate. It seems more normal now. I keep waiting to pull away like a small handful of hair like I was before, but it's been pretty normal so far. REALLY hoping for some regrowth now.
The clips I use used to be too small to hold all of my hair before all of this. Now? It's too big.
FX I'll see regrowth in a couple of months.

If it isn't already on the record from me, the carnivore diet is a terrible idea. It will cause everything from hair loss to an ongoing flu-like state, to the s-h-i-t-s, to muscle loss and much more. And I never lost a damn thing by way of weight (of course, this was when it was called "atkins" back in its first incarnation).

All of this meat will cause gout and jack up your creatine to unsafe levels. Please re-think it and remember the difference between carb-restrictive vs carb-free. Just my two cents.

I agree with Joe and that's why I stopped doing total low carb, my body really needed some carbs because I was feeling dizzy and sick every day once I was almost to my goal weight. I did lose weight though but I still would have even if I would have eaten carbs.

About your periods...Are you experiencing bad ones? Mine were terrible. I always felt like my insides were coming out and they sometimes lingered on for about 2 weeks. My doctor sent me to a specialist and he gave me a uterine ablation. I haven't had a period for 3 years :)

I tried low-carb once in my life (or maybe more) and I was just miserable---beyond the keto flu it just didn't work for my life......

We are all here to support you :)
  • LiLee2018LiLee2018 Member Posts: 1,159 Member Member Posts: 1,159 Member
I'm gonna have to respectfully disagree about carnivore. Not saying you didn't have a crappy experience with it. That really sucks that you did. There definitely are some drawbacks to it while your body gets used to it.
It's definitely not a diet for everyone, but I'm ok so far and plan on sticking with it. If down the road I start experiencing some bad stuff, then I'll reevaluate.
TY for the concern though! :)

My periods really aren't bad. Like once in a blue moon I'll get some achy back cramps, but other than them lasting for a dang week, having a couple of pimples pop up and 1 or 2 headaches, they're not so bad.
I used to be extremely irregular before having kids, but after each baby, my body seemed to keep getting more and more regular until I was finally having a normal cycle every 28-30 days. But the last 2? or 3 have been irregular again. Going about 40something days inbetween. Think it started right before holiday cheats. Not sure why. Maybe b/c of my weight gained back... maybe b/c of multiple cheats? /shrugs
    ____

I didn't feel like it, but got me and the youngest out for a quick walk around the neighborhood (just basically a small loop around).
My baby boy definitely kept it entertaining with his constant chatter. He even let out a "I don't like walking!" and let out a big sigh lol.
Then like 2 seconds later said he loves walking..... then said he wanted to go home lol.
My older boy was with his grandparents, but I can just imagine his whining on walks too. We'll all have to build up to walking longer lol :)

I think I'm about ready to start lifting again though. We eventually want to buy a squat rack to set up, but will have to wait until we have some more funds and research which will be best for us to get.
