I am Kelly and I have been on quite the weight loss journey over the past 15 years! I was always thin until my second son was born and I could never lose all the weight. I am 5'10 and was about 215 lbs for the longest time. I tried eating better but could never curb the over snacking after work. I tried daily walks but that would only last a month or so. Plus I was in a horrible work enviroment so I felt hopeless and gave up on myself.
Back in November 2017, I got into a better job and instantly felt better about myself and my future. Decided it was time to work on improving my health. New job and new attitude and moving more helped me get down to 170 lbs. Then I got stuck at that weight for a long time. I decided to start back with the healthy eating and walking but with less pressure on myself. That made all the difference.
Fast forward to now... I am down to 161 lbs as of today with my goal weight being 150. I eat better but don't restrict myself if I want a cookie after dinner or (God forbid!) fast food once a week. I walk 5-6 times a week for about 4 miles per walk which equals a little over an hour. That has helped a lot with the over snacking because I walk instead of heading directly home after work. By the time I get home, I have just enough time for a moderate snack before starting dinner.
I am happy and happy now and looking forward to the day when I can say I am maintaining my goal weight.
