May has been super busy but productive. I’ve been here since August 27 2018. I’ve been running the rental booth for peddle boats and paddle boards on weekends. Crazy busy!
Huge NSV for me! May 30, 2018 size 18 jean shorts. Today size 12 jean shorts! Size XL tops last May this time. Today size MEDIUM tops!!! Excited!

Had an amazingly enjoyable evening. :drinker:
We went out to Fatto a Mano and both adored our pizzas.
Then we went to the Paris House and found seats at the back of the pub just before the live music started. It was a Cuban group. A middle aged couple came and sat near us, so we started talking. Turns out they were both teachers, staying in Brighton for their half term holiday. So we chatted away happily (actually shouted as the music was very loud). Then two very glamorous young women came in, who were also teachers at the same school in Hampshire. Also on holiday. Turns out they had just got married! So a very convivial and jolly evening was had by all.
Now we are just watching the cricket World Cup while I wind down from the fun we had.
Tomorrow I'll make the orange cake. I boiled the orange today. My scones turned out mar-vell-ous!

Rita - Just seen your post. Great job!
Vicki - How cruel! I had to go back to see what people were talking about as I missed your post somehow, but I just can't believe some people. Ugh... (((HUGS)))

This is the smoke in the skies at our place at around 1 this afternoon. I live very close to the airport and can mostly see the writing on planes as they are taking off and landing. Today I could hear the planes but not see them. The fires are anywhere from 3 - 7 hours away from us.

Rita, you look fabulous! WTG!!!0

Machka - I couldn’t manage without my cell phone calendar. It has everybody’s schedule. I leave notes everywhere!!1
-
Machka - Isn't that why calendar/reminder apps exist? That suggestion is only slightly less stupid than telling you he needs to drive to be more independent (when he can't for medical reasons). I used a paper day planner forever and had a very hard time giving up my paper and transitioning to an online calendar. I am happy I did, but it was painful.

So I might be taking a Greyhound bus to my son's and DILs, then staying there from the 6th to 21st when husband and son drive down to pick me back up.💖👍 My son has duty weekends so that is why they can't come down.
I am hoping to visit middle sister, and mother in law too.👍. I am excited, hoping to eat well when I'm there. Its going to be quite a change! I am hoping that DIL and I get along swimmingly, and Athena Rose and I bond.💖M
Its going to be a crazy June!

Rita, I remember how much you struggled at first so your great weight loss accomplishment is that much more impressive. You certainly show the power of never giving up.
Rebecca, How great that you have found a plan to visit your beautiful new granddaughter.

Only 0.5 K loss (1 lb) this month, where as my very modest goal was 1k.
I tracked almost every day in the first half of the month, only missed 2 days.
In the second half of the month I only tracked 3 full days.
I'm glad my goal was modest.
These two charts attest somewhat to the value of tracking.
That needs to be number one for me this coming month in terms of weight loss.

RITA wonderful
REBECCA glad you have a plan to see Athena Rose hug her for us
HEATHER you have such a busy lovely life, so happy for you
I'm trying to lose the holiday weight at the moment. Doing well, it has helped that we haven't shopped since we came home so no snacks in house. Will shop today and hope DH does not put cake or biscuits in trolley. When I complain he says 'you don't have to eat them' duh
Cause of some weight gain

Dreamt weird dreams all night about the people we met in the pub. Such a fun night.
I really must start to pull back on what I'm eating and drinking. Officially I'm still within MFP maintenance calories, but my body functions on a bit less than that. I've been very devil may care, hoping that the exercise will compensate. I haven't weighed myself, too scared, but my middle is feeling pudgy. Extra tires.

@Machka9 Are those RTW people serious? Any fool knows that planning, and thus diaries/lists are an essential tool for busy people. I know that I couldn't function without them, as I tend to take on quite a lot even now when I'm retired. Digital has made life much easier, with all the reminders etc, but I still keep my paper journal/diary.
Well done on the assignment and the weight drop.
@coastalgosgal You will have such a wonderful time with that beautiful Athena Rose, Rebecca. Glad you have worked out a way to get there.
@cityjaneLondon I love your zest for life. My motto is to be grateful for each new day, and to pack as much joy as possible into each one that I am given.
I have been quite indulgent over the past few weeks as my minor injuries are healing. The knee is merely grumbling occasionally now, and the elbow still a little stiff, but otherwise, I am almost back to normal. Strength and flex have suffered slightly, but I plan to spend the next month gently working on recovering my former levels, using body weight to begin with.
I put on a couple of lbs on my week's vacation in Croatia. This is mostly gone, so any loss from now is actual loss. 😂
@kevrit Rita “never give up, never surrender you are so right! PERSERVERANCE is a good motto for me for June!
Slept very late this morning. I have no formal plans for today. But that will change once I'm fully awake.

Update on May Goals
It's been an eventful month, but I have come through it okay.
My word for May was GRATITUDE
I am grateful that my knee problem turned out to be temporary. I need to be more mindful of not worsening this problem by making unwise exercise choices. It's chastening to know that so much pain was a result of my own foolishness.
I am grateful that I have the inner reserves to work through problems.
I am greatful that I have a supportive network to encourage my efforts.
May Goals- Be grateful for whatever comes along. 🤦🏼♀️💁🏼Staying positive and grateful was difficult at times, especially when I had a second tumble on Tuesday when I was out gardening. However, it did make me more determined than ever to enjoy life, and live in the moment. The future is never certain.
- Log food daily/stay under goal ✅
- 9000 steps a day: gradually work back up to this goal. ✅ I had to revise this to 6000, as my knee was so painful. I just checked Fitbit, and my daily average for the month was 7558! I think I can count that as a win!
- 30+ minutes intentional exercise daily ✅
- Weigh less at the end than at the beginning [✅ b]I just checked my records and was pleased to see that I lost 0.8lbs. Every little helps! [/b]
Let's hope I can get through today, and finish the month without any more mishaps!
