I have set a goal to lose 127 pounds by October of next year.
I've been counting calories for the past few weeks with another app but haven't really lost anything. Looking into it, that app was showing I could eat about 500 more calories a day than I really should be.
So here I am. I am 302.4 pounds today, and am hoping to be 175 in a year and three months. I'm going by calories alone, as I love food, but I have been eating healthier anyways.
Every 20 pounds I lose, I need to update my daily calorie goals. Wish me luck and cross your fingers I have the motivation to keep going! Lol xD

Congrats on deciding to make a positive change!
Just as a word of caution though... Time frames for weight loss goals can be counter-productive. Weight loss isn't usually linear and consistent, and staying perfectly on plan for 15 months would be impossible for most people. Also, once you get closer to goal, your weight loss can and should naturally slow down as you simply don't have as many calories to work with in the first place. So you'll probably be losing more like 1 lb per week towards the end, even 0.5lbs per week possibly.
Not trying to discourage you AT ALL! It's just so often people have unrealistic expectations and give up when weight loss doesn't happen at the speed they planned.
Check out these threads, they have been really helpful to so many of us when we were getting started:

Regardless of when you reach your goal, just keep moving forward Good luck!1
