Net carbs -- Keto

With how popular keto is, MFP really needs a native net carb option. Heck, make it a premium feature to see and set goals on. How hard can that actually be to add, you already track fiber and carbs.

    Very.

    MFP is an international app, and many countries list net carbs in their nutritional information. That means that some DB entries are gross carbs, and some are net carbs, and there is no reliable way to tell which is which. How do you suggest MFP avoid subtracting fibre from net carbs entries and making its carb figures a nonsense?

    @ceiswyn is right.

    Luckily, what is 100% not hard is tracking carbs (and making sure you choose the total carb entries if in the US or Canada) and tracking fiber and doing the simple subtraction in one's head.

    Well if that’s the case, then we have no idea whether MFP is giving us the right carb count!

    Yup. Unless you are really careful with your DB entries, and manage to use only entries you have created or ones that are from your particular area of the world, there's a fairly good chance your carb count is a mess.

    Of course, that's only a problem if you really care about your carbs :)

    Yes! Add Net Carbs!

    Seems easy enough to me for MFP to handle the different countries entries. Couple of options here: 1) When someone enters, they can select their country preference and all items will automatically use the defaults for that region. or, 2) Make two options for entry: Carbs (gross) Carbs (net) and add a tiny explanation. As someone who designs databases for a living, I believe this is a reasonable request.

    Yes, one can do a subtraction, but considering the macro nutrition pie graph MFP provides, that's kind of sloppy.
