It's my time!

I will be turning 50 in roughly 6 months and I decided it is now my time. I need to lose 40lbs and get back into shape. I have always been a competitive person but the past few years I have sat on my butt and made excuses. I can no longer blame my 22 year old son for the extra "baby" weight! I am putting ME first this year and next and next etc.. (just started on December 1st). I do not do any "fad" diets but I will count my calories and going to the gym is my bonus! I quit my membership a year ago thinking I would go outside and walk and I have weights and equipment indoors - well - I never did any of those things. It is rough getting up at 5am but I always feel so much better! Any support or motivation is greatly appreciated! Even though I have done MFP for years I have never written anything but I do read a lot and get motivation from others! To all those out there - I know it is tough but be strong!
