A stressful evening .. so I ate ice cream, chips, etc! I wasn't going to even buy that stuff, but hubby wanted it over the holiday weekend.
Last nite after our daughter left ... hubby only allows her to sit outside again because she worked in the nursing home 3 days ago. The mosquitos are awful ... she and I both are so bite up. So she left early, and I could tell things were bothering her.
I ran to the store afterwards to pick up hubby prescripts, so picked her up some flowers and a candle. When I dropped them off at her apartment.. she was crying.
I just hate this virus. She misses working .. she only works maybe 1-3 hrs every other week. We are giving her some spending money. But I think she misses the most not being able to come in our house. I was so glad I got her the flowers ... she said she really needed that.

So tonite she came out ... but after 30 minutes on the patio, we are both so eaten up! I have citronolla candles, yard spray, etc., but we have had so much rain, so mosquitos are the worse I have ever seen them.
I asked hubby again .. could she go in the patio room, and we just won't use it until tomorrow. We only sit there in the mornings anyhow. This room is totally closed from the house.. other than the patio door that leads us out there. But our daughter enters it through outside stairs. He said no. I read up, and from what I understand, the virus only lives 3 hrs in the air. I told him that, and he got upset, asking where I read that. I know it lasts on surfaces longer, but I clean those.
So tonite I already had 2 bowls of ice cream and chips. I am ready to go and have another bowl of ice cream, but I know that won't help. I don't want to call my hubby selfish... but geez, he and I could skip going in the patio room so she could be out there. He said he hates being this way .. he is just trying to protect us. But whenever I say anything, he just gets really upset. He is afraid I will get the virus because I sit out there with her. So I can't win.

going to call it a nite... and maybe watch a movie with my glass of water.

@mytime6630 - Iโ€™m sorry your husband is being so stubborn. I understand that in the States you are dealing with much higher numbers than we are here so understand his fear. What would he say about if you wiped down the furniture and things she touches with Lysol wipes and wore a mask.

If all else fails, I bought the Off Brand mosquito lanterns and found them very efficient.

I have to run Iโ€™ll catch up latet

Well done @HEGoddard0928 on the writing! Such discipline to keep plugging away and write a whole novel! Amazing.

@mytime6630 Iโ€™m sorry itโ€™s so tough. What a difficult position to be in.

@Snowflake1968 hope the sleepover was good!

@TerriRichardson112 - yay for the walking!

I am running out of time here so the quick take home from my weekend is that I did all my jobs and loads of exercise but was a little less disciplined with food. Ah well, at least I know I burned a ton of calories too! Tomorrow is a brand new week and I have to run a marathon over the 7 days in a tribute challenge for my MFP forum running group member who died suddenly just recently. Will catch up more with you all tomorrow.

        @HEGoddard0928 - Congratulations!!!! Whatโ€™s the next step?

@Faebert - I failed miserably at any semblance of restraint at the sleepover but I had so much fun.

This is my Granddaughter and her best friend Charlotte. There is about 4 months between them and this was their first sleepover. Their Momโ€™s have been best friends since they were 13.
I am a little biased but I think theyโ€™re pretty sweet.

        9/5: 183 -- getting there!

Personal challenge for myself. LOG at least ONE meal each day.

Walked 8.5 miles this morning with a friend ... what a great way to start my day, and because of this, had a much better day food-wise. Our daughter worked today, and came out at 8 .. only stayed about 1 hour. But thankfully there was a nice breeze, and the bugs didn't seem quite so bad! We just have to make this work somehow.

        Goals for monday, 9.8

        2. concentrate on 8+ water
        3. mindful eating

        Today I will:

        - post
        - finish USS :smiley::smiley::smiley:
        - dishwasher :disappointed:
        - cook dinner!

I did it!!! Lol. It's not exactly a full-length novel as it's only about 40k words but I know that once I get through a few rounds of edits it'll be well over the 50k mark. I'm just so freakin proud of myself! And my writing besties were super excited for me too! It was a really great feeling. Now I'm going to work on the outline for the second book in the series and do some edits of the first one I wrote. I put that one down to work on this one I just finished. It's been 6 months since I last looked at it so it's not fresh in my mind. I'll have new eyes when I read through it! I'm excited! And also scared at the same time. Lol

        Okay, onto some goals!
        Today I will:
        - post
        - dishwasher
        - Walmart
        - fold laundry
        - edit 3 chapters in Daphne's Tale

@Bex953172 - Iโ€™m happy to see you back. Iโ€™ve learned through the years that hiding away and trying to fix things on my own is never good for me. Itโ€™s a hard lesson to learn. Weโ€™re all here for you even if you just want to stop in and say hi.

As for friends, true friends are very hard to come by but when they do, they are precious. It sounds to me like the Mom that witnessed the altercation would be a good friend, maybe give her a chance. The other one sounds like a b$tch. Iโ€™ll always be your friend, If I lived anywhere near you I would definitely invite you for tea.

Hi gang, have not stopped today! Out at 5:45am for a run before work. Started off in the dark but a gorgeous sunrise. Then school run with the kids and into work where we had my new year 1 class (5-6years) starting. Wow, they are young!! Seem much younger than other years because they missed so much of last year in school. I think itโ€™s going to be a real uphill struggle bringing them up to the level they should be... ๐Ÿ˜ฌ

Then school pick up of my kids and home to do couch to 5k with them, make dinner, help with homework etc.. I have only just sat down and itโ€™s 8:30pm here. Typing while sort of overseeing baths etc. Iโ€™m wrecked!

@bookmeister86 so nice to see you!! @Bex953172 donโ€™t suffer on your own. I think we all know this group isnโ€™t just about diet and fitness, we are here for each other whatever so feel free to vent. Hugs x
