Just Give Me 10 Days ~ Round 107

@deepwoodslady I am so sorry to hear all of that. I haven't been to the store since Fri - it was a zoo. I don't have babies so that just adds so much stress. It is really laying bare IMHO how selfish people are - the "me" attitude. I say that because I have seen videos posted of people running into Costco at opening and buy not 1 but 4 and 5 pallets of TP, so that the people behind them get nothing. Have we always been this crappy (no pun intended) or is it just me asleep at the wheel? Makes me sick. Hang in there! It's going to be a long several months.5

tiabirdie56 wrote: »Hello all😀 I haven't been on here this past week because everyday I've had to be out in search of goods and food. Every store in my area is lacking in something because of the panic buying. I usually buy groceries twice a week. It took me all week to get what I need and I'm just doing normal shopping. All the public schools in Maryland have shut down now for 2 weeks starting Monday. All libraries closed, at least one museum that aI know of, the zoo. I'm sure next week will bring more craziness. I've been having a lot of underlying stress concerning my older sister and younger brother and my two young families.
So sorry to hear about all of this stress and panic. I know the stores are doing their best and its just crazy right now. The dichotomy between how some people are hunkering down and doing their best to stay in versus people going out, partying, vacationing, etc is so odd. Hang in there....6 -
Had a successful last round and I’m hoping to keep it up! Good luck everyone!

Day/Weight/Comment
03/08: 180.4 (Yesterday was such a busy day! I made some banana bread in the morning when I woke up, my hubby and I went grocery shopping, I bought a brand new beautiful couch with electrical recliners and a dining table with chairs, we went to Best Buy to buy the Nintendo Switch, we took my father in law out to dinner since he officially moved to Florida this morning. Very very busy. Today marks the first time my hubby and I will be alone without family. Everyone moved to Florida in the past 6 months and my hubby and I have decided that LA is our home. It’ll be a weird change but a good one.)
03/09: 181.8 (I did a long 70 minute workout yesterday and ate at a deficit. We’ll see how the rest of this week goes!)
03/10: 179.2 (Trust the process! I literally pushed so hard in my Zumba class last night and it paid off! Made a dinner that fit into plan and had a good night of sleep.)
03/11: 178.2 (Happy to see it continuing to go down! I did some weight lifting and spinning yesterday. I’m already below my Friday weigh in weight.)
03/12: 178.0 (I did a very tough hill spinning workout last night that definitely started a waterfall of sweat. It was the toughest thing I’ve done in awhile! I ate to plan and had a relaxing night after the gym since the hubby made dinner.)
03/13: 177.4 (I haven’t seen the 177’s since September 2019! I only have 1.4 pounds to go to make my lowest weight. I’m guessing a combination of not taking steroids anymore and maybe a change in my workout is causing the drops? Who knows. Perseverance pays off!)
03/14: 178.2 (Gained a little from that vegetarian Chipotle burrito I had last night! I’ve been stressing out about buying groceries since the stores have bare shelves in my town. We’ll see how it goes!)
03/15: 179.4 (I took another day off from working out and had my couch and dining table delivered. It’s so nice to get brand new furniture! I also went to the grocery store at 6am and finally got groceries for the next two weeks. I’m grateful I got some essentials.)

Day/Weight/Comment
03/08 194.6 slow change, I’ll take it.
03/09 194.8
03/10 195.4 blech. No good reason for this, I was green for calories and had a good run. I have felt like I’m fighting a cold, though, so maybe I’m retaining water.
03/11 194.4 Ok, that’s more like it. Still very slow going but in the right direction.
03/12 194.4 Based on eating and exercise I think I “deserve” better than this...but at least it didn’t go up!
03/13 193.2 Patience wins the day, there’s the drop. May this continue! Have been eating well under calorie limit and pounding water. Also 2 walks yesterday.
03/14 194.4 This number again. 😠 But I ate a lot, late, and somewhat salty. Wasn’t “green” for calories but was well under maintenance at least. Hopefully pound water today and see a better number tomorrow.
03/15 193.8 hmm. Need more water and protein today.

R107 SW 133.0kg
Day | Weight | Change | Comment
03/08 | 133.0kg | No change | Did get a bit of exercise in on Saturday, but didn't make the best food & drink choices.
03/09 | 133.0kg | No change | Relaxing weekend with the family. My little one started walking a few steps at a time this weekend so that's super exciting! He's 15 months so a little behind with it, but he's a big boy at 31.5 inches tall (half my height already!) and around 30lbs so I'm not surprised as he had more weight to lift and a higher centre of gravity to work with! We've known for a long time that he can do it, he just lacked the confidence so we've been working with him to build that up. So sweet to see his little face light up when he realised he was doing it himself!
03/10 | 133.0kg | No change | Actually tracked my calories yesterday and wound up under target! Drank 2L of water, should have been more though. Ate a very later dinner as we had a couple of parcels for our neighbour so he popped over to collect them and stayed for ~3 hours - he didn't leave until after 11pm and we still hadn't had dinner! So it was a quick bit of cheese & vegemite on toast for me, then off to bed around midnight which is going to make today hard due to a short sleep and unsatisfying dinner (it's 8am and I'm already ravenous). Will drink a lot of water today and get some exercise in since my planned ride on the stationary bike also didn't happen last night. On the bright side, I only ate half as much toast as I 'normally' would have at night (small victory, but also probably why I'm so hungry this morning). Onward & upward.
03/11 | 133.2kg | +0.2kg | Over target on calories and didn't do any exercise. I was just exhausted from the late night the night before and couldn't convince myself to do any exercise. Calories would have been a lot better if I had jumped on the bike while waiting for dinner to cook instead of eating a snack...
My little one has developed a cold (I think) so hoping I don't get that now too. Poor little guy, it's affecting his sleep so badly. We put the vapouriser on in his room last night and I think that helped.
03/12 | 133.3kg | +0.1kg | Still heading in the wrong direction. Did have a good day yesterday though - came in under calories (despite having takeaway burgers for dinner, I was able to limit myself to only a handful of chips). Also got 30 mins of exercise in, between walking at work and a quick 3-mile ride on my stationary bike before bed. Overall a good day yesterday.
03/13 133.0kg | -0.3kg | That’s better. Noticing a trend that I seem to gain in the earlier part of the week and then drop quickly at the end. Probably a result of my more relaxed approach on weekends. Overall trending down so that’s ok for now.
03/14 | 133.1kg | +0.1kg | Day off from work yesterday, spent the morning going through my little one’s clothes and packing away the too-small stuff. Relaxing afternoon and then did a quick 3 miles on the stationary bike before treating myself to a nice texting bath with a lime & coconut bath bomb and a green matcha face mask. Felt heavenly afterwards and had a good night of sleep! Did eat too much at lunch yesterday, but also drank a lot of water so overall an average day.
03/15 | 133.1kg | No change | relaxed weekend at home, though I did have to get some groceries so that was an adventure. Our town finally got a shipment of TP - some off-brand, 2-ply stuff but better than nothing! We actually don’t need any right now as it’s something I always keep spare of, so I did the right thing and left what little there was for others. We still have some items like pasta and rice on the shelves as well so hopefully it doesn’t get too bad here. Unfortunately my little guy is teething again so I needed to get some children’s paracetamol. We have two pharmacies in town. The first had none of the brand I trust, only an off brand so I grabbed some just in case. The other had one bottle left of our usual brand so I grabbed that one too. They have no idea when they’ll be able to restock and have run out of things like antibiotics because the ingredients come from China. Hopefully there’s an end to all this soon and things can go back to normal. Stay safe everyone.
03/16 | 132.8kg | -0.2kg | Actual scale dropped over a kg since yesterday, though I'm not really sure why. I kept up my water and didn't overeat too much yesterday, but I wouldn't have thought that would make that much difference. I suppose I must have been retaining water for a while! I don't think I'll make my round goal this time, but hopefully still post a loss anyway.
03/1710 -
General goal is to maintain below 150, and trend slowly downward to 145.
The downward trend is a bit slow for my liking, but at least it's is still downward.
Looking forward:
- March: I need to focus on getting back to where I was pre-Christmas
- 2020: Goal is to stabilise weight around 145
- Strengthen strategies to reframe the tendency to use unhealthy snack food as a reward/treat.
- Make sure I have prepared healthy snacks available
- Cut down on eating between meals
Back Story:2018:2020
My goal was to get down below 160, to allow me to enjoy the indulgences of holidays and celebrations.
2019:
I exceeded that and have been below 150 for most of the last 2 months.
In 2018, I put on 10 lbs over the last 2 months of the year.
In 2019, I consistently lost weight since the end of July. I put on about 4lbs over the Christmas break, but was still below my original 2019 goal.
That's a WIN in my book!
Focus: maintenance! I might even manage to lose a bit more ever so slowly.

THERE ARE NO QUICK FIXES OR SHORTCUTS to achieving permanent change.
REMINDERS One or two thoughts which might give heart to some of you.- Daily weight fluctuations are normal, and can be as much as 2 lbs a day for no apparent reason.
- A general downward trend is what we are looking for.
- Eating out can cause apparent weight gain because of high sodium levels, but usually goes quickly. Drinking extra water helps with this.
- The human body does not react instantly to what we do to it. Sometimes it can take several days to see results.
- Plateaus are a normal part of the process. The body is consolidating and adapting to your new way of eating/exercising.
- The closer you get to your goal weight, the more difficult it becomes to lose weight, as your body becomes more efficient at using what you feed it.
- When you exercise you build muscle, which takes up less space than fat, so use measurements as well as weight to assess your progress.
- Getting/Staying fit and healthy requires a lifestyle change for most people.

All will work out.
03/15 164.6 lbs, 🤗
It took 14 days to get back to this weight after my vacation. My mistake was not trying to stick to my diet on vacation. Learned how easy it is to gain weight if you don’t stick to your plan. Saying that I do believe most of it was water. When you up your carbs the water weight comes back 1st.

03/08: 173.2 New Low!
03/09: 173.7 My new low didn't last very long LOL. It's my husband's fault ha! He made soft pretzels. Just kidding - I asked him to make them BUT I didn't have to eat two!I could be up just from a normal fluctuation when I'm settling into a new weight but most likely too many carbs/salt. Since my calories were only 1250 and 670 were pretzels, it didn't leave much room for eating healthy food
. I rowed too so shouldn't add any 'real' weight and should be down again in a few days IF I keep my paws off the pretzels.
03/10: DNW - Could not bring myself to weigh today - too many carbs/salt. I did walk, and drank lots of water. I had 1303 calories but, again, can't be happy about that since pretzels were half of that and took away from good healthy calories. When I feel in control, I fool myself into thinking I can control myself with sugar/white flour, thus asking my husband to make soft pretzels (oh, no worries, I can just eat 1/2 of one - wrong!) I did stop myself from an all-out binge the past 2 days and that IS a NSV. They're all gone now, thank goodness! Stocked back up on vegies, fruit and chicken so looking forward to a good healthy day!

03/16 164.6 1,041 Calories, 15 Carbs, 12 Net Carbs, and 3,431 steps. Today is a sad day for me. Last day to visit my mom at the nursing home. No visitors until further notice. I have to say and agree it’s one of the best ways to keep her safe. The virus is officially here in our community. To everyone stay safe and be caring citizens to all.
03/17
@carol7878 Oh Carol, I am so sorry. That is so sad. Even though you agree it's the best way to keep her safe, I know that is so hard for you and her. Hopefully, with all the early precautions, the 'curve' as they talk about will flatten out and this will end sooner rather than later. Thinking about everyone during this scary and uncertain time3 -

03/15 391.0 (0.0) It has been a while - but I finally made it! Not sure when I will catch up but it will probably not be this round With COVID19, everything is super crazy -- especially at work!! I re-joined WW Feb 29th. They sent me an email with an offer I could not refuse. Even that is crazy now. No more meetings for now until further notice. My last meeting was Saturday, where I lost 6.2 pounds on their scales. I don’t want to ever see 400 on the scale again. Mines or WW. I can’t visit my Dad in nursing home. So much more and I know I have missed a lot with you guys! If I get quarantined, I may have plenty of time to catch up!! PLEASE PLEASE STAY SAFE and stay off the streets. Self-quarantine when possible and/or go out as less as possible if you have to go out. Even if you are young and not in the high-risk category. Because it is about saving lives. We are thinking IL will be on shut down after the election on Tuesday, since not enough people are staying put. Peace out and keeping you all in my prayers.

My journey … "I May Not Be Where I Want To Be, but I’m Not Where I Use To Be!"In 2003 Weighed over 600 lbs.My highest weight was 611 in 2003. Weight in 2004 before weight loss surgery was 580. Lowest weight after surgery was 302 in 2007. "I May Not Be Where I Want To Be, but I’m Not Where I Use To Be!"
In 2005 Weighed under 400 lbs.
In 2007 lowest weight after surgery 302lbs
I joined MFP on March 27, 2010 weighing in at 388 pounds. I was re-gaining weight and stumbled up on it while trying to get back on track. I was determined never to see 400+ on that scale again for me.
I have been morbidly obese all my life. I have a lifetime of mental and physical scars from obesity. In October 2004 I had Gastric Bypass surgery. WLS (Weight Loss Surgery) was the best gift that I could and did give to myself.
Between 2008 and 2010 I gradually gained back 80 of almost 300 pounds lost initially after weight loss surgery. I never reached my goal weight of 200 pounds. I still managed to keep off over 65 percent of the weight I lost which is very good and I am very proud of my accomplishments since 2004. It has literally changed my life for the better on all levels. I am here to lose re-gained weight and to reach my initial goal weight. I am in no hurry. I am taking this one day at a time and I am in it for the long haul.
Surgery did not fix the head. It is a good tool and the best gift I have given to myself, but it was not the easy way out as many people think. Once the honeymoon period is over after the WLS it is up to the patient to keep the weight off.
On August 29, 2011-- I was admitted to Intensive Out Patient Eating Disorder Program to learn how to manage my binge eating disorder effectively. The program is wonderful indeed and will be instrumental in me reaching all of my goals. The focus of this program was how to eat and not diet. Weight loss was not a goal of the program. I actually gained 20 pounds in program. But I had to get thru a lot of stuff and my the time I was released I had stopped gaining. I was discharged from program on December 3, 2011.
My tool is still working for me today. My head is still the issue. SO the struggle continues. I will never beat myself up again. I fight the fine fight faithfully and positively everyday. Because that is what will get me to my goals one day. Even though it may not show up on the scale every day -- Everyday I make progress one way or another just by showing up, waking up and trying.
Giving up is not an option for me. Perseverance, Patience, & Positive thinking will help me reach my goals…… and the same is true for you too!!We have the power within us.
*One of my major goals is to get my BMI under 40 (260 weight) so I can have surgery on my knees *

@carol7878 & @IsMollyReallyHungry and all others who can't visit their loved ones due to the dreaded Coronovirus. It is very hard and especially for those vulnerable people who suffer with dementia & do not understand that there is a reason why their loved ones can;t visit them for their own good. Some years ago, the care home that my father was in ( he very recently passed away) had serious cases of winter 'flu and found it neccessary to go into "lock down" to eradicate the infection. They did lose a couple of the most vulnerable residents, but did successfully manage the virus. However, my Dad really suffered; he deteriorated during those two weeks due to not having visits from family, he did bounce back a little, but didn't really get back to the pre 'flu condition.
Use technology where you can with the help of the homes to have video 'phone contact, that does help.
Also as others have said on here, keep safe everyone, & keep washing your hands !! But remember this;

03/08 - 165.1 No clue how I got this number. I ate terribly and drank too much wine yesterday. Maybe wine makes me lose weight. Lmao
03/09 - 164.2 Great day yesterday. Love the direction my scale is going. Hopefully I can keep this up this round!
03/10 - 163.4 I think my body is fighting something. I always lose weight when I'm sick. I hope I can keep it off.
03/11 - 162.9 Tested negative for strep yesterday however I was presenting all the symptoms therefore I got treated for it. Been on antibiotics for 18 hours now and feel a lot better. Still going to take it easy.
03/12 - 163.6 Almost back to normal. Going to try to hit the gym today.
03/13 - 163.6 Well didn't go to the gym. Trying to avoid germy places as much as possible. Fingers crossed I get a workout in at home tonight.

Day, Weight, Comment
03/16 - 146.2 - I'm back! For a few days at least... I'm very very shocked at this minimal gain for 9 days in Texas. I have until Friday and then its moving day and I'll be out again for at least a couple more days. Wanted to hop on and see if I can get back to 145.x prior to the end. Definitely have some water weight to lose since yesterday was a travel day and water hasn't been great so I don't think a 0.3lb loss is really too awful for 1 day. Giving notice today which will be hectic since the whole Coronavirus thing -- many people are working remotely, especially those with kids out of school (spring break was extended here). We shall see how today goes. I missed you all!

My 1st round:
Heaviest Weight: 403 lbs
Round Start Weight: 279.4
Round Goal Weight: 278 (-1.4 lbs)
Goals:
1) Be mindful of everything that goes into my mouth.
2) Drink 68 oz (around 2 L's) of water daily.
3) Walk as much as I'm able.
4) Aerobic exercise 3 times a week, for 20 minutes.
Day/Weight/Comment:
3/08: 284.8
3/09: 281 (-3.8lbs)
3/10: 280 (-1lb)
3/11: 279.4 (-.6 oz)
3/12: 280.4 (+1lb) Did really good all day with what I ate, then I sabotaged it by having a unhealthy dinner and overeating. It's a new day and giving up is not an option.
3/13: 279.4 (-1 lb) Lost the lb I gained. Working on not allowing myself to be tempted by food especially when I'm stressed about something.
3/14: DNW
3/15: 280.4 (+1 lb) Yo-yoing back & forth with the same lb. Sick with the common cold and I thought I'd start feeling better by now. So most of my goals have not been completed except the second one. Continue with the water intake to keep from becoming dehydrated.
