4 miles - plan was for 5 if my knee felt perfect, otherwise cut it short. Leg felt a little off, decided to stop before it hurt. Seems to have been a good decision, it’s feeling good now. Hard run but felt good when it was over. We heard a barred owl while running!

Re: ego. I try to bear in mind what CS Lewis once said: You know that one person who drives you absolutely crazy, who ruins every day of your life and you just don’t understand why they don’t get struck by lightning for being so obnoxious? You are that person to somebody else. Guarantee it. Your mom, your sister, your spouse, your child, your teacher, somebody out there has moments when you make them feel like their head is about to explode. Try to remember that when you are being driven crazy yourself.

On that note I really wish people who walk side by side would drop into single file when we pass them on the road. Today it was these two middle aged women who would definitely get called “Karen” if someone were to post their photos on the internet. On the subject of Karen becoming a word used for an over-privileged woman of a certain age who loves to complain, my sister’s name is Karen and she is a total Karen. She used to own a parakeet which had learned to imitate her nagging her husband!

@shanaber You are doing great just to get out there and walk. Don't get down on yourself. You have to listen to your body. You will get the situation taken care of and be back to your normal level of exercise soon. And, I kind of like the color of the shoes, though, like you, I would probably never chose that for myself.

@ContraryMaryMary Glad you are having some great runs!

@PastorVincent That's going to be really big! It's a greenhouse, right? I'm getting old and have forgotten already.

@HonuNui Glad to hear from you and I too love the picture and painting. Your husband is very talented!

@rheddmobile Glad you listened to your body and had a good run. Love the CS Lewis quote.

@rheddmobile I love that insight from C.S. Lewis, something useful for me to remember.

Yep. 24'x26' or thereabouts. 12-foot ceiling to make the arch.

    May Goal: 100 Miles

    5/3: 11.07 miles
    5/5: 6.25 miles
    5/6: 5.71 miles
    5/7: 5.16 miles
    5/10: 13.2 miles
    5/12: 5.35 miles
    5/13: 6.40 miles
    5/14: 5.31 miles
    5/17: 10.02 miles
    5/19: 6.55 miles
    5/20: 6.55 miles
    5/21: 6.25 miles

    87.83/100 miles completed for May

523.99/1000 miles for Run the Year Team Pavement Pounders

I had a pretty good run today. Just 6.25 miles. I had to cut it a little short since I was pressed for time. It was pretty humid and the first couple of miles were kind of hard, but then I settled in and enjoyed it. I really like running this time of year. It is still usually a little dark when I start out, but for most of my run it is light. I wish I could always run just as the sun is coming up.

@HonuNui It's good to see you back. I've missed your snorkeling pictures. Love the turtle photo and the painting is awesome!

@Teresa502 - Love that you ran for the bees! Did they have a medal? I could just imagine some really cute ones!

It did have a really cute medal. I haven't received it yet and now I can't seem to find a photo of it either!

    Nice shoes!

@rheddmobile - love the quote and especially the comment about your sister and her parakeet! We should all have a parakeet that mimics our worst that we would never realize otherwise. We would hate it but our behavior would likely improve.

@Avidkeo glad you love the new earphones. Garmin simply needs to understand we don't want to wait for our watches when we order one and even more when they are broken.
