When the green number changes and adds calories, does that mean that I have to now eat that many calories instead in order to loose weight. Or, do I stick with the beginning 1800 calories?

Mfp is designed for you to eat back your exercise calories. So, you get to eat more calories when you log your exercise.1

Your setup only talked about your eating goal based on daily activity level - no exercise was mentioned in there.
MFP is trying to teach the life lesson about weight management.
You do more, you eat more.
You do less, you eat less.
Tad less in either case to lose weight.
Only caveat would be what was the >400 calorie workout?
Body won't like too big of a deficit and can start adapting and fighting you for that weight loss - even the deficit you selected could have been not reasonable.0
